Door-to-door trick-or-treating, pumpkin picking, and photo ops highlight this Halloween drive-through experience in Los Angeles

Experiential Supply Company announced Hauntoween LA, a kid-friendly, non-scary adventure that provides a great way for families to celebrate the eerie season this year. Hauntoween LA is a fun, immersive, interactive, and safe drive-through experience for all ages.

Door-to-Door Trick-or-Treating

Keeping the traditions and excitement of Halloween alive in a safe format is the priority at Hauntoween LA. To recreate an experience as close to traditional trick-or-treating as possible, guests drive their own vehicle down two streets in an ordinary neighborhood with a spooky Halloween overlay. They stop at each house for treats. Costumed (and safely masked) actors emerge from their “homes” and approach each vehicle as it pulls up to the curb (all occupants of the vehicle must wear masks whenever the windows are down). The actors deliver the treats to waiting guests using poles on which there are buckets filled with wrapped candy.

Besides trick-or-treating, vehicles pass through mesmerizing installations including an immersive jack-o’-lantern tunnel containing over 1,000 pumpkins. There are scenic paths in which traditional Halloween characters and scenes—including giant pumpkins, headless horsemen, and countless spider webs—populate an array of Halloween environments and mini-maze routes.

Two recently announced Hauntoween LA experiences include a blacklight tunnel powered by FX’s Emmy®-nominated series, What We Do in the Shadows and live musical performances by The BeatBuds, which will take place at select, surprise times.

Party City, the one-stop-shop Halloween destination, will also join the celebration. Installations featuring Party City products will be on display all along Hauntoween LA’s Party City Lane. Guests can rev up their Hauntoween experience with DIY car-decoration kits available for purchase online at the time of ticket purchase.

There’s also an interactive, themed pumpkin patch. Passengers in each vehicle choose a pumpkin to take home, which is sanitized and placed in a plastic bag. Families retrieve their pumpkins from a drive-up container or have them placed in their trunk.

Guests can create a video memory of their experience by pulling up to a green screen to film a video that’s emailed directly to them for easy sharing on social media. There’s also a photo op—a spatially distanced stop at the end of the route allows guests to commemorate their time at Hauntoween LA.

Safety measures in place for Hauntoween LA:

Before arriving at the location, all guests must fill out release forms and liability waivers online. They will issue no reservations without forms signed ahead of time.

For security and safety, off-duty LAPD officers will be on site besides a full staff of security guards along the route during all operational hours.

All guests are required to wear masks when vehicle windows are down.

There will be ongoing sanitizing of all touched surfaces. Staff working in the pumpkin patch and trick-or-treating areas will wear gloves and masks. Gloved staff will sanitize and handle items such as pumpkins and candy.
