U.S. Haunts & Events
On Friday, January 27th, Abandoned Acres Farm (Sparta, MI) will open a new escape room inspired by the village’s history – “TRAPPED: Mineshaft Experience.” “We decided to get into the escape room business out of the overwhelming requests from our patrons at Abandoned Acres Farm Haunted Attraction,” said Frank and Amy Stabile in a joint statement to the Business Journal. “Our room is one of the larger rooms available… Players start in a rusty old cage elevator, find their way into the gear room, a gold processing room, then further explore the mineshaft tunnels.” Tickets are currently on sale at the venue’s website. Room pricing starts at $30 per person (2-8 people per game).
Creations & Libations, a wine and paint company, has partnered with The Savannah Underground (Savannah, GA) to create an Immersive Haunted Paint & Sip event on Saturday, February 4th. This “haunted” black light paint night has both liquid and spooky spirits. Strange occurrences have been happening during the lead-up to the event – lights flicker, the speaker system turns on and off, and there is an eerie feeling when you enter the room. There may be some spirits from Savannah lingering in the space. At the paint & sip, attendees will help to manifest those spirits through their creations. Paint and party in the dark, but try to keep a watchful eye out if you can. Leave with your very own unique creation as your souvenir – that is, if you leave at all! Tickets are on sale now for $65 each.
Join Maag Marketplace at the Heritage Museum of Orange County (Santa Ana, CA) on Saturday, February 11th, from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. for a Bloody Valentine event. Attendees will experience spooky vendors, music, children’s crafts, activities, Bloody Valentine photo ops, food & drinks, and more. The event will also feature a Haunters Row Art Gallery with original art pieces from local artists, which will be available for purchase. Proceeds will help fundraise to restore the Maag House, one of the museum’s properties. While admission is free, attendees must register online to attend.
Haunted Attraction Association
The Haunted Attraction Association‘s Board of Directors announced a change in leadership: Brent Wilson (Doom Haunted House) will replace Cody Bailey (HUSH Haunted Attraction) as Vice President. Brent has a long history in both the “show” side of things as the owner/operator of Doom Haunted House in Idaho Falls, ID, and the “business” side of things with warehouse-sized purchases, leases, and building inspections. Former VP Cody Bailey remains on the Board of Directors.
The HAA Online Auction is now accepting bids. Auctioned items include two HAA memberships (an Associate and a Small Haunt membership), Texas Haunters Convention Booth & Full Page Ad, Video Services from Scream4Reel, and more. The auction ends Sunday, February 5th at 2:00 p.m. The HAA’s annual Live Auction at Transworld’s Halloween & Attractions Show will take place Friday, February 3rd. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. Arrive early, grab a drink, and get ready to party!
Conventions & Mixers
The Ohio Haunters Association and Carnage Haunted House (Columbus, OH) are teaming up to organize a Halfway to Halloween event on April 29th. The event will feature Halloween vendors, make-up demos, roaming haunt characters, a haunt item raffle, a 50-50 drawing, a tour of Carnage Haunted House, food trucks, and more. The Midwest Haunters Convention sponsors the event. Attendance is free.

Get up to $75 off all silicone mask and glove orders; this applies to made-to-order and in-stock items that will be available on the show floor at CFX booth #602 (*not applicable to licensed products or items already on sale). Trick or Treat Studios unveiled their complete product catalog for 2023. Its 137 pages are filled with both returning favorites and new arrivals. Highlights include an expansion of its Halloween Michael Myers masks with four new masks inspired by Rob Zombie’s Halloween & Halloween II. The Mummy and Mask of the Red Death join the Universal Studios Monster collection. Other new masks are inspired by the horror classics Texas Chainsaw Massacre and The Exorcist, as well as the new Foo Fighters’ rock-n-roll horror-comedy Studio 666.
