The Hall of Shadows, the massive haunt showcase at Midsummer Scream, is back and more terrifying than ever. This year’s edition—running August 15-17, 2025, at the Long Beach Convention Center—transforms into “Le Carnaval du Diable,” featuring more than a dozen haunted attractions, immersive photo ops, and live entertainment inside a sprawling dark zone themed to a devilish carnival led by the sinister Mr. Floats.
In a major highlight for haunt fans, Lionsgate returns to the Hall of Shadows with Gears of Fear 2: Stranger Danger, continuing the unprecedented collaboration between a major film studio and the Halloween convention. This marks the second consecutive year Lionsgate has debuted a haunted attraction exclusively at Midsummer Scream.
The Largest Hall of Shadows Entry Yet
Guests will enter through an elaborate, fog-drenched haunted forest and carnival façade before being released into a sprawling space filled with haunted walkthroughs and displays from top creators across California and beyond. Co-Founder and Creative Director Rick West describes it as “our most ambitious Hall of Shadows lineup ever,” highlighting the thematic cohesion and expanded scope of the experience.

Sliding Back Into Action
Fan-favorite stunt team The Decayed Brigade returns with high-energy sliding shows throughout the weekend—one on Friday and three daily on Saturday and Sunday—delivering adrenaline-pumping thrills in the heart of the Hall of Shadows.
Tickets & VIP Access
All Midsummer Scream tickets include access to every Hall of Shadows attraction. VIP “Gold Bat” passholders will enjoy priority entry, allowing them to skip standby queues. The entire Hall of Shadows will be accessible all three days of the event.
