Oogie Boogie Bash Debuts at Disney California Adventure Park for 2019 Halloween Season
Debuting this year at Disney California Adventure park in Anaheim is the Oogie Boogie Bash—A Disney Halloween Party, which opens on September 17 and runs Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday evenings through October 31. This separately ticketed, after-hours event for guests of all ages is hosted by Oogie Boogie from Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas, along with Disney villains.
Oogie Boogie Bash attractions include:
- A new World of Color nighttime spectacular called “Villainous!”
- A spooky, walk-through experience called Villains Grove
- An interactive, Descendants-inspired dance party
- An interactive stage production for all ages—Mickey’s Trick and Treat show at the Disney Theater in Hollywoodland
- Special Ooogie Boogie Bash apparel and food
New World of Color show–“Villainous!”
In the new World of Color show, Villainous, Oogie Boogie (from Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas) weaves a Halloween tale about a young girl (an all-new character created by Disney animator Eric Goldberg) named Shelley Marie. Shelley has a decision to make about her Halloween costume for this year and finds herself wondering if she could really be as strong and unique as some of her favorite Disney villains. The Villainous! tale carries Shelley on an unforgettable journey through devious encounters with The Queen, Ursula, Dr. Facilier, Hades, Jafar, Maleficent, and more that manifest as fountains, lights, lasers, projections, and special effects.
Villains Grove and DescenDANCE
Oogie Boogie Bash also includes a spooky, walk-through experience called Villains Grove, which features Disney villains. The Redwood Creek Challenge Trail will be completely transformed with lighting, projections, sounds, and special effects to create a dreamlike environment. This new experience unfolds in a series of scenes, each creating a dreamspace of color, sound, light, and shadow, as stories emerge from the darkest night to create an enchanting world.
Another Oogie Boogie Bash debut is DescenDANCE, which will be held in the Backlot area of Hollywood Land. This event is inspired by the popular “Descendants” franchise from the Disney Channel.
Mickey’s Trick or Treat Show
Another Oogie Boogie Bash attraction is an interactive stage production for all ages—Mickey’s Trick and Treat show at the Disney Theater in Hollywoodland.
Special Oogie Boogie Bash Apparel and Food
To commemorate the debut of the Oogie Boogie Bash, Disney is offering apparel including themed t-shirts, a spirit jersey, and a festive, zip-up sweatshirt for men, women, and kids. Other available items include the Oogie Boogie Bash headband; four, exclusive-event collector pins; and a light-up, Oogie Boogie Bash Sipper. Tickets for the new Oogie Boogie Bash–A Disney Halloween Party may be purchased online at Disneyland.com/HalloweenParty as well as at the Disneyland Resort main gate and by phone at 714-781-4636. Entry to Disney California Adventure Park before the party is included with an Oogie Boogie Bash ticket. The party begins at 6 p.m. PST and guests have the opportunity to play in Disney California Adventure for three hours before the party starts on Tuesday and Thursday nights (excluding Oct. 29 and Oct. 31) or four hours on Sunday nights, plus Oct. 29 and Oct. 31. Oogie Boogie Bash–A Disney Halloween Party starts September 17 and runs Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday evenings through October 31, with each night’s tickets ranging $110 to $145.
