Scream Break returns for its second year to Six Flags Magic Mountain (Valencia, CA) on Fridays & Saturdays, March 22nd – April 13th. The after-hours event runs from 9:00 p.m. to midnight and includes access to two haunted houses (SAW and Condemned House Party), three scare zones, exclusive food, two DJs (DC UNIVERSE™ and Full Throttle Plaza), and, of course, rides on select attractions. Tickets are on sale now with single-night admission for $40 per person. Admission is free for pass holders, with limited reservations available online and at the park on a first-come, first-served basis. “Scream Break combines the party and fun of Spring Break with exhilarating and haunting entertainment,” said Six Flags Magic Mountain Interim Park President Jeff Harris in a press release.
Disneyland‘s Halloween Half Marathon Weekend events have sold out within days of opening for registrations. This new runDisney event is September 5th – 8th, 2024, at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, CA. The weekend’s slate of events include Disneyland Yoga with Goofy; Disneyland Halloween 5K hosted by Chip & Dale with trick-or-treating; Disneyland Halloween 10K themed after the Haunted Mansion; Disneyland Half Marathon hosted by Minnie Mouse, Daisy Duck, and Clarabell Cow; runDisney Kids Races for runners 0 – 9 years old; and the Chills & Thrills Challenge hosted by Jack Skellington, Sally, and Zero from The Nightmare Before Christmas.
U.S. Haunts & Events
A new John Wick Experience is coming to AREA 15 in Las Vegas, Nevada, later this year. The 12,000 sq. ft. attraction will blend immersive theatre and highly themed cinematic environments to create an interactive journey through the underworld of John Wick. The official description reads: “Guests step through the doors of the Las Vegas Continental and into the fantastical underworld of John Wick, where they navigate a high-stakes adventure as well as visit a themed bar and retail shop open to the general public.” Franchise director Chad Stahelski and his team at 87Eleven Entertainment will collaborate with Egan Productions (the company behind The Official SAW Escape and Escape Blair Witch) for the experience.
A new immersive horror experience from Blumhouse and Lionsgate is coming to SoCal, and reservations sold out within a few days. In Blumhouse Presents: Chauncey’s Imaginary Playhouse, guests will step into the world of the upcoming horror film Imaginary. From February 24th to March 2nd, play with Chauncey through six rooms across two floors filled with spine-tingling jump scares, perception-altering audiovisuals, and scene recreations.
Two new after-dark events are coming to The Winchester Mystery House (San Jose, CA) this Spring: Paranormal Investigation with TAPS West Coast & Halfway to Halloween Flashlight Tours. Experience a Paranormal Investigation within the darkened halls of the mansion led by TAPS West Coast on March 29th & 30th at 7:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. The 2-hour hands-on ghost hunt will include exclusive after-hours access to the mansion; access to investigation tools such as EMF readers, REM-PODs, spirit boxes, and more; and a digital copy of the video & audio files from the investigation. Tickets are on sale now, starting at $150 per guest (ages 13+). In celebration of Halfway to Halloween, Flashlight Tours will be offered on April 26th & 27th and May 3rd & 4th, starting at 6:30 p.m. each evening. The self-guided tour allows brave guests to explore the dark halls while hearing unnerving stories of the home’s haunted history. Tickets are on sale now, starting at $49.99 for Adults and $29.99 for Children (ages 5-12).
Conventions & Mixers
Tickets are now on sale for TransWorld’s East Coast Haunters Convention. Happening April 27th – 28th at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center (Philadelphia, PA), the East Coast Haunters Convention is TransWorld’s newest addition to their slate of Halloween industry expos. This regional event will feature premier haunted house tours, networking events, evening parties, and a lively exhibit floor. The event is open to the public. Early bird tickets start at $40 – $50 for single-day show floor admission and $65 for weekend show floor access. Prices will increase after 11:59 p.m. CST on April 15th. Seminar information and pricing will be announced in early March.

Spirit Halloween donated $61,000 to Child Life professionals of Golisano Children’s Hospital (Fort Myers, FL). The funds were raised during the store’s annual Spirit of Children campaign last Halloween. The company also gifted thousands of dollars in costumes, decorations, and crafts to make the hospital more festive during Halloween.
