Most Spirit Halloween stores close November 2 this year, but the 38 that turn into Spirit Christmas close October 31, which leaves them a week to change over. Spirit hasn’t posted hours or closing dates for any Spirit Christmas store yet, and each store page currently lists the store as closed every day.

What Spirit Christmas Sells
Spirit’s Christmas shop splits into décor, animatronics, inflatables, nutcrackers, and costumes and apparel, with a holiday costume section and an Ugly Christmas section. It also carries The Nightmare Before Christmas décor. Spirit lists 14 Christmas animatronics online, from $39.99 for Santa’s Magic Book to $599.99 for the 7-foot nutcrackers, and it ships them or holds them for free store pickup. Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer characters, $199.99 each: the Misfit Doll, Misfit Elephant, Misfit Charlie-in-the-Box, and Clarice. Charlie-in-the-Box and Clarice each speak four lines from the 1964 Rankin/Bass special.
Frosty the Snowman, $329.99, and Professor Hinkle, $349.99: Frosty is 5 feet 9 inches and tips his hat, and Professor Hinkle stands 5 feet 5 inches and connects by cord to Spirit’s Karen animatronic.
7-foot Bluetooth nutcrackers, $599.99: a Silver Bling and a Candy Cane Bling version that sing along to music from your phone.
Smaller pieces: a light-up swinging gnome that plays “Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy” for $199.99, and light-up gingerbread kids for $119.99 each.
Spirit Christmas piloted 10 stores in 2024 and grew to 30 in 2025, in the Northeast and Great Lakes, Retail Dive reported. This year’s locator lists 43 stores in 15 states before a single store has opened. Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia are new to the list, and Florida, Illinois, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, and Pennsylvania have four stores each.
Like Spirit Halloween, the Christmas stores move into empty big-box spaces. Seven are former JoAnn stores, three are former Bed Bath & Beyond stores, and two each were Big Lots and Party City.
