Fall Food and Drinks 2026: Every Chain’s Menu and When Pumpkin Spice Drops

Fall flavors now arrive weeks before the leaves turn, and 2026 was no exception, with the big chains rolling out pumpkin spice, caramel apple, and other seasonal menus across a single busy stretch of late August. This is our running cheat sheet: the release calendar up top, then every chain’s lineup with what is new for 2026 marked, and a link to each full menu with photos. We update it as more chains announce.

When Fall Menus Dropped in 2026

The season rolled out from mid-August into early September. Here is the release calendar for the chains we have covered, in order:

When Does the Fall Menu Come Out?

Earlier every year. In 2026 the major chains launched between August 18 and 26. Starbucks brought back the Pumpkin Spice Latte on August 25, the latest of the big launches, while Dunkin, Panera, Peet’s, and Einstein Bros. all went live August 19 and McDonald’s, Philz, Cracker Barrel, and First Watch started the wave on August 18. If you are waiting on one specific chain, the calendar above has the date.

The Pumpkin Crowd

Most of the big names went pumpkin again this year, and several pushed well past the standard latte.

Starbucks (Pumpkin Spice Latte back August 25)

Starbucks brought the Pumpkin Spice Latte back on August 25 with the widest pumpkin board of the season and a genuinely new drink, the Chaider.

• New: the Chaider (a cider-inspired chai, hot or iced), Iced Pumpkin Cream Shaken Espresso, Pumpkin Spice Chai, Iced Pumpkin Cream Matcha, and two banana bread lattes that are staying on the menu
• Returning: Pumpkin Spice Latte, Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew, Iced Pumpkin Cream Chai, Pumpkin Spice Frappuccino, and the Pecan Cortado and Pecan Crunch lattes

Dunkin (fall menu out August 19)

Dunkin brought pumpkin back on August 19 and stacked a lot on top of it, including a full tiramisu collection and an Alix Earle breakfast.

• New: Pumpkin Cloud Dunkalatte, Pumpkin Pie Coffee Chiller, Pumpkin Patch Cloud Latte, Nutty Pumpkin Protein Latte, a four-drink Tiramisu collection, Berry Clementine Refreshers, and the Alix Earle Earle-Y Riser Meal

First Watch brought pumpkin back in two forms and led its release with a bacon sandwich anyway. The seasonal menu runs through October 26 (not in the Tampa Bay area or select new restaurants).

• New: Pumpkin Spice Donuts (cake donut holes in pumpkin-spiced sugar with salted caramel and crème anglaise for dipping), the Maple Bacon Croissant Sandwich, The Godfather Breakfast Bowl, and a Blazing Dragon strawberry and dragon fruit juice

Biggby Coffee (out August 20)

The East Lansing, Michigan-based coffee franchise built a pumpkin, apple cider, and maple bourbon menu, then layered a Halloween drink lineup on top for October.

• Pumpkin: Pumpkin Spice Latte, White Pumpkin Latte, the Chumpkin (pumpkin and chai), and the Jack-O-Lantern Latte (pumpkin, vanilla, and marshmallow)
• Halloween (October): Vampire Creme Freeze, Sweet Foam Black Forest Cold Brew, Caramel Apple Blast, and the Ghoul Fuel Red Bull mocktail

Tim Hortons (Pumpkin Spice back through November 1)

Tim Hortons brought its Pumpkin Spice lineup back for the season, available through November 1, and added one new savory item to go with it.

• Pumpkin Spice: Latte, Iced Latte, Iced Capp, Cold Brew, and the Pumpkin Spice Muffin
• New: White Cheddar Hashbrown, the chain’s crispy hashbrown with a savory white cheddar and herb seasoning

The Caramel Apple Crowd

A growing group is betting on caramel apple instead of pumpkin, and one bakery is running both.

Wendy’s (out August 3)

Wendy’s skipped a Pumpkin Spice Frosty entirely for a new Apple Crumble Frosty Fusion, a vanilla Frosty with spiced apple syrup and oat crumble, pitched as a fall flavor “beyond pumpkin spice.” It is out nationwide through the fall.

McDonald’s (out August 18)

McDonald’s skipped pumpkin entirely for a caramel apple McCafe line.

• New: Caramel Apple Pie coffees as a Frappe, a hot latte, an iced latte, and an iced coffee, finished with salted caramel whipped cream and apple pie bits
• Note: no pumpkin on the McCafe fall board this year

Philz Coffee (out August 18)

Philz also skipped pumpkin, going for two new cold brews instead.

• New: Apple Cinnamon Roll cold brew and Pecan Pie cold brew, plus seasonal pastries that vary by market

Cracker Barrel (out August 18, ends October 18)

Cracker Barrel’s fall menu is apple and honey rather than pumpkin, and it has a hard stop: the seasonal items run at participating restaurants through October 18.

• New: Sweet Cream Caramel Apple Pancakes and Sweet Cream Caramel Apple French Toast (warm fried cinnamon apples, caramel drizzle, and vanilla cream sauce, served with two eggs and a breakfast meat), Apple Cobbler Cheesecake (apple cheesecake on a graham cracker crust with streusel and caramel, 620 calories), and a Sweet Honey Latte
• Returning: Carrot Cake, Granny Smith Apple Tea, and Granny Smith Apple Mimosa
• Deal: Crispy Homestyle Chicken at $9.99 as an entree with two Country Sides or as a sandwich with one, plus Maple Bacon, BBQ Smokestack, Nashville Hot, and Honey Butter versions that the release does not price

Paris Baguette (out August 26)

Paris Baguette played both sides, adding a full caramel apple collection next to its returning pumpkin one.

Little Debbie’s fall snack lineup reached grocery, discount, and supermarket shelves nationwide the second week of August, and the headline is a comeback rather than a new item.

• Returning: Going Bananas for JELL-O Pudding, with JELL-O Banana Cream Pudding Ice Cream, NILLA Wafers, banana, and whipped topping
• Boo Batter: the orange Halloween ice cream is not in this lineup and has not been announced for 2026

Jeni’s (fall collection in scoop shops and shipping now)

Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams has released its Fall 2026 Collection of four flavors, led by Pumpkin with Brown Sugar Blondies, an heirloom pumpkin ice cream with warm spices, caramel, and brown sugar blondies. The other three are Hazelnut Stracciatella (roasted hazelnut with bittersweet chocolaty curls), Miso Butterscotch Brownie (dark chocolate brownies in toasted sugar and miso cream), and Pear Frangipane (crisp pear and almond, nutty and sweet). The first three ship nationwide and are in scoop shops now, while Pear Frangipane is available at scoop shops and by local delivery only.

Pumpkin Versus Everything Else

The clearest story this fall is a split. Pumpkin spice still defines the season at Starbucks, Dunkin, Panera, Peet’s, Einstein, IHOP, and First Watch. But a growing group is betting on caramel apple instead: Philz dropped pumpkin from its menu, McDonald’s led with Caramel Apple Pie, Cracker Barrel’s fall release is apple and honey with no pumpkin item at all, and Paris Baguette hedged by running a full caramel apple collection next to its pumpkin one. Caramel apple is shaping up as the season’s main pumpkin alternative.

Halloween grocery and drink novelties

Beyond the coffee and bakery menus, a wave of horror-branded grocery and drink tie-ins hit shelves for Halloween 2026. A few to look for:

• SunnyD SpookyD, a limited-edition mystery-flavor drink at Walmart.
• Fanta Ghost Face Punch, a Scream tie-in soda.
• Angry Orchard’s Ghost Face cider Thriller Pack.
• Voodoo Ranger Slasher IPA, a Michael Myers beer.
• Pabst Blue Ribbon’s Jason 12-pack that folds into a wearable mask.
• Jack in the Box’s Simpsons Treehouse of Horror Munchie Meal.

Wendy’s Frosty Frights Kids’ Meal and Boo! Books

Wendy’s brought back its Frosty Frights Kids’ Meal toys for 2026, with six new characters and six Halloween-colored variants to collect (12 in all), plus a secret 13th “Brain Freeze” figure limited to 2,000 and available only through a one-hour Wendy’s Rewards drop on Friday, October 30. Applebee’s Spooky Sips

Applebee’s brought back its $6 Spooky Sips for 2026, the rum-based Dracula’s Juice and Tipsy Zombie, and for the first time added booze-free options: the $4 Tropical Spell Mocktail and the Graveyard Dirty Soda (Mountain Dew, blue raspberry, whipped cream, and Oreo crumbles). BJ’s Spooky Pizookie

BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse has brought back its Spooky Pizookie for 2026, the Halloween version of its warm cookie-and-ice-cream dessert. It is a Cookies ‘N’ Cream cookie with Oreo crumbs and Halloween sprinkles, orange-tinted vanilla bean ice cream, and a crackable chocolate topping that sets into a shell over the cold ice cream. BJ’s lists it at $11.49, dine-in only, and as a seasonal item it does not appear on the main online dessert menu. McDonald’s Pumpkin & Crème Pie

McDonald’s has brought back its Pumpkin & Crème Pie for fall 2026, a baked, sugar-coated pastry crust with a pumpkin filling on one side and a crème filling on the other, at 280 calories. It is turning up at participating locations with no press release and no spot on the national Sweets & Treats online menu, so its product page and the McDonald’s app are the confirmation rather than the standard menu. Shake Shack Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Shake

Shake Shack went straight to Halloween on September 1 with a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Shake: vanilla frozen custard hand-spun with Reese’s Creamy Peanut Butter and fudge sauce, poured into a crackable dark chocolate shell and topped with whipped cream, Reese’s Mini Peanut Butter Cups, and chopped Reese’s Pieces. It is at U.S. Shacks (not the ones in stadiums, racetracks, roadways, and airports) for a limited time, and the online ordering menu lists it at $9.99 and 1,900 calories at one Southern California Shack, with prices set by location.
