Field of Screams 2026 Midnight Masquerade scene at Den of Darkness

Mountville, PA — Field of Screams, the Lancaster County haunted attraction that has terrified more than a million and a half guests over three decades, opens its 34th season on Friday, September 11, 2026. The headline addition this year is a new Midnight Masquerade scene inside the Den of Darkness, one of the property’s four haunted attractions.

The 2026 regular season runs on select days through Saturday, November 7. On Friday, November 13, Field of Screams will hold its annual Extreme Blackout event, where the operator “cranks up” the intensity beyond regular event levels. The Fall season wraps on Saturday, November 14 with the 14th annual Zombie Fun Run, a 5K on the Field of Screams property that donates a portion of proceeds to the Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition.

What Field of Screams is

Field of Screams operates four haunted attractions at 191 College Ave in Mountville, in Pennsylvania’s Lancaster County. The property has run every year since 1993 and is regularly cited among the top-ranked haunted attractions in the country. The current season marks 34 years of continuous operation.

The event is not recommended for guests under 10. Field of Screams operates rain or shine for Den of Darkness and Frightmare Asylum, with the outdoor Haunted Hayride and Nocturnal Wasteland subject to closure only in severe weather.

The four attractions

Haunted Hayride. A tractor-drawn hayride through the property’s outdoor haunt zones. The busiest evenings run wagons with the center rows filled to full capacity.

Den of Darkness. The multi-story indoor walk-through haunted house where the new Midnight Masquerade scene debuts for 2026. Runs rain or shine.

Nocturnal Wasteland. An outdoor walk-through haunt across the property’s grounds. Opens at dusk.

Frightmare Asylum. The property’s indoor asylum-themed walk-through haunt. Runs rain or shine.

Extreme Blackout on November 13

The operator describes it as a higher-intensity engagement where the standard scares and physical experience of the event are pushed to a nearly unbearable level. Extreme Blackout is a separate ticket from the regular season and typically sells out.

Zombie Fun Run on November 14

The 14th annual Zombie Fun Run takes place Saturday, November 14, 2026 on the Field of Screams property. The 5K is family-friendly and open to participants of all ages and abilities. A portion of the proceeds is donated to the Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition. This is Field of Screams’ community-facing off-season event and typically closes the property’s fall calendar.
