Fright Fest at Six Flags Great Adventure returns for 2026 with nine haunted mazes, four of them new, including JASON: Blood Reign, the first Friday the 13th maze at the New Jersey park. The event runs select nights from September 18 through November 1, with scare zones, live shows, and rides in the dark included with park admission and the mazes sold as a separate Haunted Attractions Pass.
Dates and Hours
Fright Fest runs select nights from September 18 through November 1, 2026. Daytime park operations continue, and the park turns scary at dusk, with scare zones, live shows, and coasters running in the dark. Kids Boo Fest and Oktoberfest run as daytime programming from September 19 through November 1. The event is not recommended for children under 13, and costumes and face coverings are not allowed for guests. Great Adventure is the origin site of the modern Fright Fest concept, with a Halloween event that traces to the early 1990s, before the brand launched across the chain in 1993.
The Nine Haunted Mazes
Four of the nine mazes are new for 2026.
- JASON: Blood Reign (new): the Friday the 13th killer comes to Great Adventure in a maze from Jason Universe, one of three parks running it this fall alongside Kings Island and Carowinds.
- Final Destination: Death’s Playground (new): based on the film franchise, and also running at Six Flags Magic Mountain.
- Twisted Holidays (new): a holiday season turned nightmare.
- Deadwood Cabin (new).
- The Conjuring Universe (returning): the Warrens’ occult museum and the Perron farmhouse.
- Army of the Dead (returning).
- Asylum (returning).
- Big Top Terror (returning).
- The Witch’s Reflection (returning).
Maze access requires a Haunted Attractions Pass.
The Five Scare Zones
Five scare zones fill the park between the mazes, all included with admission: CarnEvil, Exile Canyon, Plaza De La Muerte, Curse of Blackbeard’s Bounty, and The Bloody Fountain.
Shows
Dead Man’s Party, the live music, dance, and pyrotechnic production, returns for 2026 after a one-year absence. The park bills it as more fun than frightening, aimed at guests who skip the mazes and scare zones. Also playing: Unleashed, The Awakening, Blade Drummers, and Freak Show.
Tickets and What’s Included
Scare zones, live shows, and rides in the dark come with regular park admission or a season pass. Haunted mazes are premium attractions that require a separate Haunted Attractions Pass. At the time of writing, Six Flags posted a Fright Fest Bundle (admission plus mazes) from $80 and a 2026 All-Season Haunted Attractions Pass from $75, with no single-night maze price listed. Six Flags uses date-based dynamic pricing, so those are starting figures that vary by night, and an Express upgrade adds priority maze entry.
