The animated candy bowl has grown up. Gemmy’s two new Halloween figures for 2026 are three feet tall, hold a candy bowl, and react when a trick-or-treater reaches in: the Mummy lifts its head and lights its eyes red, and the Pumpkin Skeleton turns its head and drops a hand toward the candy. Both are at Home Depot under the store’s Home Accents Holiday label, the Mummy at $39.98 and the Pumpkin Skeleton at $44.98, and both were in stock at a Southern California store on Saturday night, September 5.

What the Two Figures Do

Gemmy announced the pair on Friday, September 4, as “3-ft tall, animated Halloween characters” that combine “eye-catching motion, sound effects, and a built-in candy bowl.” Both trigger on sound or motion. The Mummy is “wrapped in tattered, distressed gauze,” Gemmy says, and “starting with its head lowered, it suddenly pops up with glowing red eyes when activated by sound or motion,” with spoken phrases on top. Home Depot’s listing calls the eyes a “glare from illuminated eyes” and says the head “lifts up to startle your guests.”

The Pumpkin Skeleton is the one built around the bowl. It is “cloaked in black with a creepy jack-o’-lantern head and exposed skeleton body,” the release says, and it puts the trick plainly: “As trick-or-treaters reach into the candy bowl, its hand drops toward the treats to deliver a well-timed scare.” Home Depot’s listing counts it as two movements, the head turning and the left hand reaching into the bowl, with a “flickering short-circuit eye effect” in the jack-o’-lantern face.

Price, Power, and the Indoor Catch

Home Depot lists the 3 ft Animated Mummy with Candy Bowl at $39.98 and the 3 ft Animated Pumpkin Skeleton with Candy Bowl at $44.98. Each runs on three AA batteries, sold separately, so there is no cord to hide at the door. Gemmy’s release pitches them for “porches, entryways, or indoor displays,” and both Home Depot listings say “Indoor Use Only,” so a covered entry or a table just inside the door is the safe placement rather than an open porch in the rain.

The release says the figures are “available at The Home Depot” and stops there. Neither listing carries an exclusive label, so treat them as a Home Depot item rather than a Home Depot exclusive until Gemmy or another retailer says otherwise. Gemmy has sold tabletop animated candy bowls for years, the kind with a grabbing mummy hand, and those still show up at Lowe’s and Walmart. The new pieces are the full figure instead of the hand, at the height of the kids they are meant to startle.

How They Fit the 2026 Animatronic Season

Home Depot’s 2026 animatronic lineup runs from the 12 FT Skelly down to 2.5-foot LED Golden Retriever Ghosts, and these two sit at the small, cheap, functional end of it, the pieces in the range with a job on Halloween night beyond looking scary. Lowe’s carries Gemmy figures too, in its Haunted Living collection. For what to put in the bowl, our Halloween candy 2026 guide covers every new bag on shelves.
