Conventions & Mixers
Haunters Against Hate: The Event will take place this coming weekend – July 8th – 10th – at the Clarion Center North in Lexington, Kentucky. The event features vendors, workshops, competitions, drag shows, HAH Awards, and more. Programming highlights include: Improv in Haunting workshop by Andrea Lynn of Curse of the Bayou (Friday at 3:30 p.m., Saturday at 4:00 p.m.); Paranormal Investigating workshop by Zak Wenzel of Blood Moon Paranormal (Friday at 6:00 p.m., Saturday at 11:00 a.m.); and The Drag Show hosted by Sierra Rain (Saturday at 3:00 p.m.). The HAH Awards take place Saturday at 6:00 p.m. This year’s recipients are:

Tickets for HAH: The Event are on sale now starting at $35 for Friday or Saturday Adult Admission, $15 for Sunday Adult Admission, and $65 for All Weekend Adult Admission. VIP All Weekend Passes are $110.
Midsummer Scream, returning July 29th – 31st at the Long Beach Convention Center in Long Beach, California, has released their schedule of nearly 100 panels and presentations via a brand new app available for both Apple and Android devices. The app, developed by FanGuru/Eventology Solutions, allows guests to create their own schedule – an essential tool to make the most of an event that spans over 250,000 square feet, several stages and performance spaces, and 350 exhibitor booths. The Midsummer Scream app includes a show floor map and guide to finding and highlighting favorite vendors, celebrities meeting with fans for autographs, plus more features to be rolled out. Tickets to Midsummer Scream are on sale now starting at $32 – $47 for Single-Day General Admission, $63 for Weekend General Admission, and $135 for the Gold Bat Pass.

U.S. Haunts & Events
Orlando Florida’s adult horror experience Nosferatu is coming back to Renaissance Theatre Company, September 23rd – October 31st, 2022. This new version of the show – a “Nosfera2” – will feature new characters, themes, music, sets, graphics, and more – all with the same creativity and flavor audiences have come to expect from Renaissance Theatre Company. Tickets are on sale now starting at $30 for general admission. Learn more about last year’s performance from our 2021 on-location interview.
All Saints Lunatic Asylum (Apple Valley, CA) will open for its Halloween season weekends September 30th – October 31st. More information – including ticket sales – will be available in the coming weeks.
Auditions / Casting Calls
The Haunted Harvest (Chino, CA) is seeking scareactors for Thursdays – Sundays this October. Auditions will be held in person on August 6th – 7th at the Ayres Hotel in Chino Hills from Noon – 5:00 p.m. Interested parties should submit an online application.
The Los Angeles Haunted Hayride (Los Angeles, CA) is now hiring scareactors and staff for this year’s event. No previous acting experience is required for scareactor positions. Customer service and operations staff roles include cashiers, ticket scanners, parking lot attendants, greeters, line staff, security, and the “Clean Team”. All interviews and auditions will be scheduled by appointment only. Submit an online application to be considered.
Starting July 16th, HauntActors.net will host casting calls for Thrillvania Haunted House Park (Terrell, TX) and Cutting Edge Haunted House (Fort Worth, TX). Both events are seeking scareactors, event specialists, and more to join their seasonal part-time teams.
Film & TV
The official Teaser Trailer for Hocus Pocus 2 debuted this past week. It’s been 29 years since someone lit the Black Flame Candle and resurrected the 17th-century Sanderson Sisters, and they are looking for revenge. Now it is up to three high-school students to stop the ravenous witches from wreaking a new kind of havoc on Salem before dawn on All Hallow’s Eve. Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy reunite for the highly anticipated Disney+ sequel. Hocus Pocus 2 will stream on Disney+ starting September 30th.
