Glendale, CA — The Nocturne Theatre is premiering The Eaves, an original paranormal stage play built around proximity, silence, and psychological unease rather than spectacle, in a newly activated upstairs performance space. The world premiere runs April 30 through September 2026.
The play, written and directed by Nocturne co-owner Justin Meyer, follows a paranormal investigator called to assist a grieving mother whose home has become the center of a disturbing presence. According to the production, what begins as a haunting reveals itself to be something more personal, blurring the line between external forces and internal reckoning.
The Eaves is staged on one of the theatre’s newly activated upstairs performance spaces, with all performances taking place on the second floor. The Nocturne describes the format as an intimate, close-up theatrical experience that emphasizes atmosphere over spectacle. The production cites The Woman in Black, Ghost Stories, and Paranormal Activity as inspirations.
Meyer’s previous Nocturne credits include Madam Scrooge, Frankenstein: Resurrection, and Haunted Soirée. In its announcement, the production describes the new work as exploring “the unsettling idea that the past never truly disappears, that our homes remember us, and our decisions linger.”
The Nocturne has issued a content advisory noting themes of grief and loss, unresolved family trauma, psychological distress, and supernatural phenomena. No graphic violence occurs onstage, but the production notes that the emotional intensity and sustained suspense may not be suitable for all audiences.

The Nocturne Theatre is operated by Meyer2Meyer Entertainment, the company owned by Melissa and Justin Meyer. The Meyers were part of the original 2009 launch of the Los Angeles Haunted Hayride and spent a decade as Creative Director and Chief Operations Officer for Ten Thirty One Productions before launching their own slate of immersive programs.
Meyer2Meyer’s portfolio includes immersive activations for properties including Fortnite, TRON, Predator, Minecraft, Alien: Earth, and Severance, in collaboration with Epic Games, Netflix, Disney, Lucasfilm, and Warner Bros. The Nocturne previously staged Little Shop of Horrors with original creature puppetry built for its theatre-in-the-round configuration, reviewed for Attractions Magazine.
