Long Beach, CA — The Queen Mary has opened three new haunted staterooms that guests can book overnight, year-round. Called Paranormal Passage, the rooms are themed to the Long Beach ship’s famous ghost legends and start at $392 a night, joining B340, the cabin long billed as the ship’s most haunted.
About the Paranormal Passage Staterooms
The Paranormal Passage rooms sit aboard the Queen Mary, the ocean liner that once sailed the transatlantic route and now sits permanently docked in Long Beach as a hotel and attraction. The three staterooms are cabins B326, B328, and B334, and each is built around one of the ship’s ghost stories. Those legends include the Lady in White, an apparition long reported aboard the liner, a child spirit named Jackie associated with the ship’s old first-class swimming pool, and the officers said to still walk the corridors below deck. Each room carries its own atmosphere and interactive details drawn from its legend, and the ship sells them under the line “Where Every Door Has a Story, and every stay becomes part of the legend.”
Each Paranormal Passage room is a king that sleeps two. A stay includes complimentary access to the ship’s self-guided historical tour, so guests can explore the decks and exhibits during their visit. Unlike the ship’s walk-through tours and attractions, a Paranormal Passage booking is a full overnight hotel stay in the themed room.
The new rooms expand on B340, the ship’s Paranormal Suite, which the Queen Mary has rented out for overnight stays as the cabin most closely tied to its hauntings. The ship also runs daily paranormal tours and other ghost-themed events aboard year-round.
Rates and How to Book
The Paranormal Passage staterooms are bookable now on the Queen Mary’s website. Fall rates start at $392 a night, and because the rooms are part of the ship’s regular hotel inventory, they are available year-round rather than only in October. A midweek stay in February 2027, for example, prices from about $402 a night. Fall weekend nights run higher, around $452, and the nights of October 30 and 31 price highest, at about $712. Separate From Dark Harbor
Because the staterooms are permanent hotel rooms, they are separate from Dark Harbor, the Queen Mary’s seasonal Halloween event. Dark Harbor takes over the ship for a few weeks each fall, while the Paranormal Passage rooms stay on the books all year. The new staterooms also arrive alongside the ship’s wider fall lineup, which the Queen Mary says includes the Grey Ghost Galley buffet, a hidden Spookeasy, murder-mystery dinners, and movie nights on deck.
