Adult Swim has a new live-action series arriving in time for the Halloween season. The Terrors of Jordan Mendoza premieres the evening of Sunday, September 13, 2026 at midnight ET/PT, and episodes reach fans on HBO Max. The quarter-hour show is created by and stars comedian Jordan Mendoza, and it features a long list of guest stars, from Steve Buscemi to Haley Joel Osment.

What the Show Is

Created by, starring, directed, and executive produced by Mendoza, the quarter-hour series follows a very scared man as he navigates a barrage of absurd, terrifying, and hilarious dreamscapes.

Blending sharp comedy with surreal horror, the series dives deep into the subconscious to explore fears that are both deeply personal and strikingly universal.

Adult Swim released that synopsis with the premiere announcement.

It is a live-action horror-comedy built around nightmares, which fits Adult Swim’s late-night programming alongside the network’s other genre-bending series.

Mendoza writes, directs, stars in, and executive produces the show, and he brings a deep comedy resume to it. He is a supervising producer on Hulu’s Chad Powers and wrote and produced for A24 and Amazon’s Overcompensating. On screen, he stars in Netflix’s Neon, where he also served as a consulting producer, and appears in Sony’s No Hard Feelings, with additional credits in Netflix’s Kaleidoscope, A24’s Problemista, Universal’s Please Don’t Destroy, and Eva Victor’s Sorry Baby. As a writer, his work spans FX’s Dave, where his episode drew year-end praise from The New York Times and Rolling Stone, along with Big Mouth, Ziwe, Beavis and Butt-Head, and Human Resources. Just for Laughs named him a New Face Creator, and Vulture and Time Out have spotlighted him as a rising New York comedic voice.

There’s nothing more exciting than finding a creator with a voice that feels completely their own, and Jordan is exactly that. He’s funny, brutally honest, and impossible to mistake for anyone else,

said Cameron Tang, Adult Swim’s SVP and Head of Development and Current Series. Mendoza’s reaction in the announcement was less formal: “Wowee! I can’t believe this is finally happening.”

The series is produced for Adult Swim by Avalon, the company behind Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, Workaholics, and Taskmaster, with original music by Christopher Bear.
