West Sussex, UK — Tulleys Farm opens its Pumpkin Festival on September 19 and runs it through October 31, 2026, with a new area called the Pumpkin Valley built for its 2026 season. The farm bills the event as Europe’s largest pumpkin festival, and it shares a site with Shocktober Fest, the scream park Tulleys calls Europe’s largest.
The Pumpkin Valley Is the New Build
The Pumpkin Valley sits inside the existing festival footprint. Per Tulleys, guests “wander along winding paths, with wooden bridges leading across gentle streams and peaceful ponds.” Inside it are giant pumpkin sculptures, a Pumpkin Farm House and a Hobbit House, with chrysanthemums planted through the area.
Sam Beare, co-owner of Tulleys Farm, framed it as a deliberate annual rebuild rather than a one-off addition.
“We have always believed the Pumpkin Festival should evolve every year.” Beare described the aim this way: “Our vision with Pumpkin Valley was to create something truly unique, an area that pushes the boundaries and immerses guests in an entirely new world.” He added: “The Pumpkin Festival is so much more than just picking a pumpkin, it’s an experience for all generations and we look forward to welcoming our guests back for what we believe will be our best season yet.”
What the Festival Runs On
The festival covers more than 100 acres and stocks over 1.5 million pumpkins and gourds across more than 100 varieties. Alongside the pick-your-own fields, Tulleys runs a Pumpkin Village with street food and artisan shopping, roaming musicians and street theatre, more than 30 built photo spots, and a 33-metre observation wheel over the fields. Dogs are welcome every day, with a dedicated Pooches and Pumpkins day.
That build-out is the part worth attention for anyone running a seasonal site. A pumpkin patch is a commodity product with a short window and thin margins. What Tulleys has done is turn the daytime half of a haunt property into a separately ticketed attraction with its own theming budget, its own night version, and its own reason to sell out before the haunt season peaks.
Pumpkin Nights Runs the Same Site After Dark
Pumpkin Nights returns on selected evenings from September 26 through October 31, running 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Guests pick pumpkins after dark, walk illuminated woodland trails, and get live music across two stages plus seasonal cocktails and street food. Tulleys says peak weekends and school-holiday dates sell out every year and recommends booking ahead.
Running a day event and a separately ticketed night event on one footprint is the same economics that pushed US haunts toward daytime festivals and Halloween-adjacent programming. Tulleys is doing it on a site that already hosts a scream park, three separate seasonal festivals and an escape-room business.
