Mina at the Center, Told Through Letters and Diaries

Audible’s version tells Bram Stoker’s novel through Mina, who “pieces together letters, diary entries and chilling testimony to hunt the predator stalking those she loves,” according to Audible’s description. Professor Van Helsing is called in after Mina’s friend Lucy falls under Dracula’s spell. Robyn Ahern, a recipient of the Bisha K. Ali Screenwriters Fellowship, adapted the novel for her first lead credit, and Ilan Eshkeri, who scored Audible’s 1984, wrote the original score.

Mary Lambert makes her audiobook directing debut with Dracula, according to Audible’s July 22 announcement of the cast. The production has full sound design and is available in Dolby Atmos on Audible. “Note: this adaptation contains scenes that some may find uncomfortable,” Audible’s page says.

“When Dracula whispers in your ear, when you hear his footsteps in the dark but see no reflection, that’s when you understand why we’re the home for this story,” said Aurelie de Troyer, head of Audible content, international, in the announcement.

Length, Price, and How to Listen

Audible’s Dracula runs 5 hours and 57 minutes. On October 14, Audible listed it at $15.95, or free with a 30-day trial, and listeners had given it an average of 4.6 stars across 5,394 ratings. It is also sold as an Audible audiobook on Amazon: Bram Stoker’s Dracula on Amazon.

Audible’s earlier Dracula, released in 2012, is read by eight narrators, among them Alan Cumming and Tim Curry, and runs 15 hours and 27 minutes. The 2026 production is an adaptation with a full cast, a score, and sound design.

Dracula in Six More Languages

Audible recorded Dracula in six more languages, each with a local cast. The French, Italian, Castilian Spanish, and Latin American Spanish versions came out on October 1 with the English one, the German version follows on February 9, 2027, and a Brazilian Portuguese version is set for 2027. The actors playing Dracula and Mina are:

  • French: Omar Sy and Deva Cassel
  • Italian: Riccardo Scamarcio and Benedetta Porcaroli
  • German: Matthias Schweighöfer and Jeanne Goursaud
  • Castilian Spanish: Asier Etxeandía and Claudia Salas
  • Latin American Spanish: José María de Tavira and Esmeralda Pimentel
