Beetle House LA, the every-day-is-Halloween bar and restaurant that announced last year it was closing its Hollywood Boulevard home, is back for one more spooky season. From Oct. 8 through Nov. 7, it’s a retro Halloween party at The Compound in Commerce, with $30 timed tickets, spooky street food and cocktails, a DJ, sideshow acts, and trick-or-treating. There are no walk-ins this year. Instead, tickets must be bought in advance on Eventbrite.

That’s 18 nights, each with three 90-minute sessions. On September 28, every session was on sale except the 5 p.m. sessions on Nov. 6 and Nov. 7, which showed no tickets available.
What’s at the Beetle House Retro Halloween Party
This year’s Beetle House replaces its usual $65 three-course prix fixe dinner with a party you roam. Beetle House’s announcement lists:
- Spooky street food and Halloween fare
- “Bubbling and smoking cocktails, potions & brews”
- A DJ playing Halloween favorites, goth, industrial, and emo
- Cosplayers, entertainers, and sideshow acts
- Games, apple bobbing, piñatas, candy grabs, and trick-or-treating
It’s a costume party, too. Costumes aren’t required, but Beetle House encourages them.
I’ve asked Beetle House whether food and drinks are included in the $30 ticket and whether guests can stay past their 90-minute session. I’ll update this story when I hear back.
Why Beetle House LA Closed, and Why It’s Back
Beetle House was created by Zach Neil. It opened as a pop-up restaurant in New York City in April 2016 and in Los Angeles in 2017. Beetle House’s website bills it as “an adult Halloween party with a Burtonesque feel,” and says it isn’t affiliated with any film or studio.
In June 2025, Neil told FOX 11 that Beetle House LA, in its current form, would cease to exist after July. He cited the pandemic, an investor pullout that left a $500,000 hole, and a manager who stole $60,000. The New York location stayed open.
This fall’s pop-up exists because a new venue stepped in. Beetle House says The Compound is giving it a home for what it calls its 10th Halloween in Los Angeles.
