Orlando, FL —
Universal Epic Universe is building a new indoor coaster for Dark Universe, its Universal Monsters land, with “an all-new story inspired by the Universal Monsters franchise,” Universal Orlando Resort posted on November 5. Construction is underway, with an opening “planned in the years ahead,” and the post doesn’t name the ride.
Dark Universe’s Rides Now
The new coaster joins Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment, a dark ride into the catacombs of Frankenstein Manor with Universal’s classic monsters, and Curse of the Werewolf, a spinning family coaster inspired by The Wolf Man.
Ride Capacity and the Fast & Furious Coaster
Comcast co-CEO Mike Cavanagh said on the company’s October 22 earnings call that Universal continues “to work through capacity challenges and ride throughput at Epic Universe.” A version of the Fast & Furious coaster at Universal Studios Hollywood comes to Orlando’s other parks next year, not Epic Universe.
