The original Halloween trilogy is heading back to the big screen. John Carpenter’s Halloween (1978), Halloween II (1981), and Halloween III: Season of the Witch (1982) return to AMC theaters on three consecutive nights, September 4, 5, and 6, presented by the upcoming Halloween: The Game. The screenings lead into the game’s September 8 launch. The re-release was reported by Bloody Disgusting and Gizmodo.
The Three Nights
The run walks through the first three films in order. September 4 brings Halloween (1978), John Carpenter’s original that introduced Michael Myers. September 5 is Halloween II (1981), which picks up on the same night as the first film. September 6 closes with Halloween III: Season of the Witch (1982), the standalone entry that famously has no Michael Myers at all.
Tied to Halloween: The Game
The screenings are presented by Halloween: The Game, the upcoming Halloween video game set for release September 8. The theatrical run is one part of a wider Halloween push around the game this September, which also includes a newly announced comic series.
