HI-CHEW is turning its Halloween candy into a guessing game. The brand’s Halloween Mystery Mix returns for 2026 with three known flavors and one secret Mystery Flavor hidden in every bag, so the fun is as much about figuring out what you are chewing as it is about the candy itself.
The known flavors this year are Green Apple, Orange Creamsicle, and Cotton Candy. The fourth is the catch. It is a brand-new Mystery Flavor disguised as an all-white chewlet, a never-before-revealed taste that fans have to identify for themselves. To match the theme, HI-CHEW’s mascot, Chewbie, gets a Frankenstein’s Monster makeover on the packaging, surrounded by creepy crawlers in a mad-scientist setup that plays up the mystery inside.
The guessing does not stop at the bag. HI-CHEW is running a nationwide flavor-guessing challenge tied to the new Mystery Flavor, launching September 15, with clues rolling out on the brand’s social channels for anyone who wants to hunt them down.
“HI-CHEW Halloween Mystery Mix delivers both, combining bold flavors with an element of surprise that transforms candy into a playful guessing game,” said Teruhiro Kawabe, president and CEO of Morinaga America, HI-CHEW’s U.S. distributor.
The Halloween Mystery Mix comes in 5.6-ounce and 11.6-ounce stand-up pouches, with individually wrapped chewlets that travel well for trick-or-treating or a party bowl. It is available at major retailers nationwide, including Kroger, Target, and Albertsons, and directly from HI-CHEW.com. Like the rest of the line, the chewlets are gluten-free and made with no colors from synthetic sources.
