Purina’s Beggin’ has three new limited-edition Halloween dog treats out now, all made with real bacon and shaped for the season: ghost-shaped Ghoulish Ghosts, pumpkin-shaped Pupkin Bites, and bat-shaped Bat Bites, a Target exclusive. Each comes in a 6-ounce pouch, priced around $3.49 to $3.69.
The three treats
All three are limited edition and available now while supplies last, made with real meat as the first ingredient and with no artificial flavors or FD&C colors. Beggin’ is Purina’s long-running bacon dog-treat brand, best known for Beggin’ Strips, and these are the seasonal Halloween take on that same bacon flavor, in soft, jerky-style chews.

Ghoulish Ghosts are ghost-shaped, soft and chewy, and made with real bacon. Chewy lists the 6-ounce pouch at $3.49, down from $3.99. The purple bag casts the Beggin’ dog as a fanged vampire.

Pupkin Bites, a play on pumpkin, are pumpkin-shaped and made with real bacon and real pumpkin. The 6-ounce pouch runs about $3.49, and its orange bag wraps the mascot as a mummy.
Bat Bites are bat-shaped, bite-sized, and made with real bacon, sold only at Target and target.com for $3.69 a 6-ounce pouch. Target lists them as new and says more than 20,000 were bought in the past month. Its red bag turns the dog into a caped devil.
Purina is pitching the treats as a way to bring dogs into the holiday alongside their humans. “Seasonal treats are a fun way to include dogs in Halloween festivities while giving them something new and exciting to enjoy,” said Annie Valuska, a Purina animal behaviorist.
Where to buy them
Ghoulish Ghosts and Pupkin Bites are showing up at pet retailers including Chewy and on Purina’s site, while Bat Bites is exclusive to Target and target.com. All three are limited-edition seasonal runs, so once Halloween passes they are gone until next year.
