Shake Shack put its Halloween item on the menu on Tuesday, September 1, and it is a shake you break into. The Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Shake is vanilla frozen custard hand-spun with Reese’s Creamy Peanut Butter and fudge sauce, poured into a crackable dark chocolate shell and topped with whipped cream, Reese’s Mini Peanut Butter Cups, and chopped Reese’s Pieces. It is at every U.S. Shack except the ones in stadiums, racetracks, roadways, and airports, for a limited time, and the chain’s online menu lists it at $9.99 and 1,900 calories at a Southern California location, with prices set Shack by Shack.

What Is in the Shake Shack Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Shake

Shake Shack’s announcement calls it “our newest crackable shack,” and the shell is the point. It is meant to be broken, so the first spoon or straw has to crack through dark chocolate before it reaches the peanut butter shake underneath. The chain calls Reese’s Halloween’s top treat, a claim it footnotes to a 2025 retailer survey, and says it is turning that into a “sweet and salty crackable shake.” It pitches the shake as “a Halloween treat worth adding to the rotation all season long, no costume required.”

The online menu carries an allergy note worth reading before you order for a group: “Cross-contact may occur with our limited-time Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Shake and Dubai Chocolate Pistachio Shake. We cannot guarantee that any menu item is completely free from allergen exposure.” The shake contains milk, egg, peanut, and soy.

Where to Get It and What It Costs

The shake is nationwide at U.S. Shacks, excluding stadiums, racetracks, roadways, and airports, and Shake Shack says to order ahead on the Shack App or walk in. Shake Shack prices its menu by location, and the $9.99 figure comes from the chain’s online ordering menu with a La Quinta, California, Shack selected, so expect some variation. It sits on the limited-time menu alongside a Biscoff Cookie Butter Tiramisu Shake, a Sparkling Cherry Limeade, and the Dubai Chocolate Pistachio Shake, with no end date given for any of them.

It is also the second crackable Halloween dessert to hit a national chain menu this fall. BJ’s Spooky Pizookie, back at $11.49 dine-in only, pours a chocolate topping that sets into a shell over cold ice cream. Shake Shack’s version lines the cup instead of capping it. Both land in a season where Reese’s is already everywhere: Hershey’s Halloween candy lineup is the biggest it has run, per our Halloween candy 2026 guide, and the shake is the fast-casual version of the same peanut butter cup.

Shake Shack went straight to Halloween rather than pumpkin. Our Fall Food and Drinks 2026 guide has the full release calendar, from Wendy’s on August 3 to 7 Brew and Taco Bell on the same September 1 as this shake.
