Spirit Halloween Adult Violet Sorrengail Fourth Wing costume

Fourth Wing fans have found their Halloween costume, and it is at Spirit Halloween. Searches for a Violet Sorrengail costume have jumped as readers of Rebecca Yarros’s romantasy series realize an officially licensed version is already in stock. There is no Spirit press release behind it. This is pure fan demand, so here is what is actually on the site, what it costs, and the one thing everyone is still hunting for.

The Adult Violet Sorrengail costume, $59.99

The main piece is the officially licensed Adult Violet Sorrengail Costume, and it runs $59.99. It recreates Violet’s dragon-rider flight gear: a black mock-neck bodysuit with molded detailing, a utility belt, fingerless gloves, and boot tops, all in the matte black-leather look the riders of Basgiath wear. It comes in adult sizes extra small through large. As of this writing it is in stock and ready to ship, though in-store pickup shows as unavailable, so this is an order-online item for now.

The Violet Sorrengail wig, $26.99

The detail that sells the whole look is the hair. Violet is known for the silver streak running through dark hair, and Spirit sells a matching Violet Sorrengail Wig for $26.99. Like the costume, it is in stock and ship-only as of this writing. If you want people to recognize the character rather than a generic flight suit, the wig is the piece that does it.

Andarna is in stores, not online

Here is the answer for everyone searching Andarna, the golden feathertail dragon Violet bonds with. She is the piece a lot of fans really want, and the good news is that an Andarna shoulder sitter is turning up in Spirit Halloween stores. The catch is that it is not listed on Spirit’s website, which is why a search for Fourth Wing online returns only the costume and the wig. In-store-only items often never make it onto the site, so if you want the dragon on your shoulder, check your local Spirit in person rather than shopping online. Fourth Wing fans have been finding it and passing the word in their groups.

Who is Violet Sorrengail

If you are shopping for a reader in your life and are not caught up, the short version: Fourth Wing is the first book in Rebecca Yarros’s Empyrean series, a smash-hit romantasy set at Basgiath War College, where cadets bond with dragons or die trying. Violet Sorrengail is the heroine, underestimated and then anything but, and her silver-streaked hair and rider leathers are the instantly readable costume. That recognizability is exactly why the Spirit set is taking off without any marketing push behind it.

Where to buy it

Both pieces are on spirithalloween.com now, in stock and shipping, with in-store pickup showing as unavailable as of this writing. Because this is a fan-driven surge rather than a stocked-everywhere release, availability can move fast, so if you want it for this season it is worth grabbing sooner than later. Chasing the BookTok costume drops? Spirit also has an officially licensed Off Campus costume line from the Prime Video adaptation of Elle Kennedy’s romance novels, aimed at the same romantasy crowd.
