The Halloween & Costume Association has named 24 finalists for its third annual Spooky Awards, and they range from a $25 Demon Slayer mask to a 47-piece, $1,199 Mandalorian suit. Fans can vote for a favorite from October 1 to 15, and HCA will name the winners January 11 at the Halloween & Party Expo in New Orleans.
How the Spooky Awards Work
The awards are open to Halloween product makers, both HCA members and non-members. A panel of industry experts judged each entry on five criteria: innovation, marketability, trendsetting potential, appeal, and usefulness. The judges picked three finalists in each of eight categories.
“We had a great group of entries this year and narrowing them down was not easy for our judges,” said Michele Boylstein, executive director of HCA. “We’re excited to recognize this year’s finalists and celebrate the people and companies that bring so much creativity to Halloween.”
Fan voting covers all 24 finalists. HCA names the Fan Vote finalists in each category on October 16, and the product with the most votes is crowned the Fang Favorite at the January 11 ceremony, held at Mardi Gras World during the expo’s Welcome Reception. The Halloween & Party Expo runs January 11 to 13 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.
Two Companies, Six Inflatables, and 14 Licensed Characters
- Two companies hold 11 of the 24 spots. Disguise is a finalist in six of the eight categories, and Ghoulish Productions, which makes its pieces by hand in Mexico, is in five. Last year Ghoulish won four categories and Disguise won three.
- Six finalists are inflatables: Disguise’s Buzz, Bullseye, and Ursula tentacles, the Morphsuits spider, Jazwares’ Wienermobile, and Rubies’ 8-foot Castle Grayskull.
- 14 finalists are licensed characters or brands, from Toy Story and Star Wars to K-Pop Demon Hunters and the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile.
- List prices run from $25 to $1,199. Two masks share the low end, and the Mandalorian suit is the only finalist over $350.

Last Year’s Winners
At the second Spooky Awards, held in January 2026 in Las Vegas, Ghoulish Productions won Adult Costume, Décor, Makeup, and Masks, and Disguise won Licensed Costume, Non-Character Costume, and Most Innovative. Jazwares’ Star Wars Adult Chewbacca Costume was the Fang Favorite. This year’s list drops two of last year’s categories, Makeup and Non-Character Costume.
