Fall officially arrives at Starbucks on Tuesday, August 25 with the return of the Pumpkin Spice Latte. Alongside it come three new pumpkin spice beverages, returning pecan drinks, two banana bread-inspired lattes, and an entirely new drink called the Chaider. New food and a limited-time merchandise collection land the same day.
Update, August 5, 2026: The parks got there first. Disney’s Starbucks fall collection is already out at Disneyland and Walt Disney World, with a pumpkin spice mug on shelves weeks before the drink returns.
Three New Pumpkin Drinks, Three Returning
The pumpkin lineup expands with three new builds: the Iced Pumpkin Cream Shaken Espresso, the Pumpkin Spice Chai, and the Iced Pumpkin Cream Matcha. Returning alongside them are the Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew, the Iced Pumpkin Cream Chai, and the Pumpkin Spice Frappuccino blended beverage.
Pecan also returns August 25, which Starbucks describes as “a signature combination of nutty flavors, rich brown-buttery notes and baking spices.” That covers the Pecan Cortado, the Iced Pecan Crunch Latte, and the Pecan Crunch Latte.
The Chaider
The Chaider is the genuinely new item on the board, described by Starbucks as “a cozy twist on chai for fall” delivering cider-inspired flavors including cinnamon and sweet spice. It can be ordered hot or iced.
Banana Bread Joins the Menu, and It Is Staying
Two new drinks take after freshly baked banana bread: the Iced Banana Bread Latte and the Iced Banana Bread Chai, both combining banana, cinnamon, and brown sugar flavors. Per Starbucks, “banana flavors are popping up everywhere,” and unlike the rest of this list, these two are staying on the menu beyond the fall season.
The Food
Three items make up the food side. The new Chicken Bacon Protein Pocket is a toasted whole wheat lavash flatbread with chicken, bacon, and a garlic herb cheese spread, carrying 20 grams of protein. The new Hedgehog Cake Pop is vanilla cake mixed with buttercream, dipped in chocolaty icing with chocolate sprinkles. And the Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffin returns, a spiced pumpkin muffin with cream cheese filling and chopped, spiced pepitas.
PSL Society Merch
For the people who track the PSL return date like a holiday, Starbucks is running a collection called PSL Society, with new drinkware and what the company calls “an iconic hat made for PSL lovers everywhere.” Starbucks has not posted prices for the drinks, food, or merchandise.
An August Pumpkin Launch Is the Season Now
A pumpkin drink arriving in late August used to be the joke about how early fall starts. This year it lands in the middle of a season that opened weeks earlier and keeps expanding after it.
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party opens August 7 with eight dates already sold out. Halloween Time at Disneyland starts August 21. Halloween Horror Nights Orlando opens August 28, the earliest date in its history. By the time the first PSL of 2026 is poured on August 25, two of the country’s biggest Halloween events will already be running. Rival coffee chains are ahead of it too: Peet’s brings its fall menu to coffeebars nationwide on August 19, six days earlier.
Shoppers moved first. Mars found that 57% of US adults consider Halloween a full season rather than one day, and Hershey found that 67% of parents had already bought Halloween candy by early July, with 55% saying they are in Halloween mode before October begins. Starbucks is not starting the season with this launch. It is joining one already underway.
