Toverland, the theme park in Sevenum in the southeast of the Netherlands, runs its Halloween season from October 3 through November 8, 2026, and it is two events sharing one park. By day, Halloween Days is the family program for children under 12: 17 dates, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with a Pumpkin Farm, a kids’ corn maze, shows, and all attractions open. After dark, Halloween Nights is the scare program for ages 12 and up: 13 dates, from the 6 p.m. parade to the 11 p.m. close, with 170 scare actors in six free scare zones and six paid walkthroughs the park calls Haunted Experiences. New for 2026 is Entwined: The Maze, a 7-hectare corn maze built around an abandoned village called Twine End, which the park is calling Europe’s largest Halloween experience.

How a Visit Works
A dated Toverland ticket is valid from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Halloween Nights dates, so the same ticket covers a family morning at the Pumpkin Farm and an evening in the scare zones. Families who want the daytime program and none of the scares should plan to leave around 6 p.m., when the parade sets off in Port Laguna and the scare actors take the park. Two of the Haunted Experiences, Maison de la Magie and The Dollhouse, open in the afternoon, and the park’s advice on its Halloween Days page is for families to steer clear of those two before the evening program begins.
The six scare zones are free with admission and are where the Halloween Magic Wand works: wave it and the creatures back off. The six Haunted Experiences are the paid layer, each a separately ticketed, timed-entry walkthrough, booked with your park ticket, later in the ticket shop, or in the Toverland app on the day until slots fill. Annual pass holders get Halloween Nights with no reservation plus one free Haunted Experience. The park’s FAQ describes the tone as atmospheric horror with a magical twist rather than gore, and the sections below take each layer in turn.
What’s New for 2026
- Entwined: The Maze. A new paid Haunted Experience in a 7-hectare corn field behind the wing coaster Fēnix, a backstage area the park opens only for Halloween Nights. It replaces Trapped, the maze that ran in the Dwaalhof through 2025.
- Halloween Village. A new Halloween area in and around the corn field, with the relocated Cirque scare zone, a new Food Street of stalls around a terrace, and the renewed Pumpkin Farm, cut into the corn in the shape of a giant pumpkin.
- Cirque, relocated. The circus scare zone moves to Halloween Village next to Avalon, rebuilt around a central ring with fairground rides. The first two nights run a smaller, nostalgic version.
- More of Morgana’s ice in Avalon. The park says the ice queen’s takeover spreads to more spots in the land this year.
- Halloween Nights Shop. The Magiezijn experience and Magistralis’ Magic Store in Port Laguna become a Halloween shop, with new sweaters, Entwined pins, and a redesigned Halloween Magic Wand with a glowing ghost.
- For families: Magisch Mais Mysterie (a kids’ corn maze), Morrels BOEderij (children get to scare their parents), Little Pumpkins (a hay-bale walk for the smallest visitors), Heksenstreken (a witch entertainment act), and a renewed Bazaar shop in Land van Toos.

Entwined: The Maze
Entwined is the sixth Haunted Experience and the one the whole 2026 season is built around. Toverland grew 7 hectares of corn on a backstage plot behind Fēnix, which the park says is twice the size of its Avalon land, or more than 10 football fields. The story is the forgotten village of Twine End, once full of life, slowly taken back by nature. Guests follow narrowing paths past ruined buildings while, in the park’s words, “those who could not escape wander among the rustling stalks,” wanting only one thing: humanity. The rule of the maze is not to stand still, because that is when they strike.
The corn was sown to precise coordinates, which is why the field reads from the air: the Toverland logo, a 25 for the park’s 25th year, and the pumpkin-shaped clearing that holds the Pumpkin Farm. Entwined opens from 7 p.m., is fully outdoors, and cannot be visited in a wheelchair. It takes a separate timed ticket like the other Haunted Experiences and, for annual pass holders, counts as the one free experience included with the pass.
The Six Haunted Experiences
Each Haunted Experience is a separately ticketed, timed-entry walkthrough with a spider rating, and the Halloween Magic Wand does not work inside. Opening times differ by experience, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Entwined: The Maze (new)

Unmasked: Walzthrough
Music drifts from a masquerade ball you were not invited to, and curiosity walks you straight into it. Outdoor, from 7 p.m. It shares its vampire-ball theme with the Unmasked: Wunderball Masqué scare zone in Wunderwald.
Maison de la Magie
A once-flamboyant illusionist was led astray by black magic, and his final trick may have been fatal. Guests ride the Ghost Train to his mansion, which sits outside the park itself. Indoor, from 5 p.m., with a transfer from wheelchair to the train and a Toverland wheelchair required. It debuted in 2020, the last time HAN covered the event.
Now You’re Mine
The mining museum in Port Laguna has opened its doors, but the rumors are about what lives down in the mine. Indoor, from 3 p.m., the earliest start of the six.
The Witches Forest
Witches have been spotted in the woods behind Avalon, engaged in pagan rituals, and the route runs through fog along candlelit paths. Outdoor, from 7 p.m. It is the one experience that can be visited in a wheelchair, with a companion.
The Dollhouse
Lightning struck Professor Kimbler’s doll collection and the dolls started dancing. His hobby was already out of hand. Indoor, in Wunderwald, from 5 p.m.
The Six Free Scare Zones
All six are free with a park ticket and rated on the same spider scale. Where each one sits, and what lives there:
- Unmasked: Wunderball Masqué (Wunderwald). You were not invited to the ball, but you are welcomed with a smile that fades on your first dance step.
- Morgana’s Frozen Knights (Avalon, renewed). Morgana has expanded her army with ice knights and seized Avalon. The park says her frozen takeover reaches more of the land this year.
- Cirque (Halloween Village, renewed and relocated). A circus grounds of clowns, fortune tellers, and fairground rides, including a nostalgic caterpillar ride and a funhouse course of moving parts and roller belts. The rides and food open at 2 p.m. with no scares. The performers arrive at 7 p.m.
- Fiesta de los Muertos (Magische Vallei). A colorful festival with the undead that turns on you once it starts to feel cozy.
- DesTroy (Ithaka). Mutated Trojan soldiers guard the ruined walls of Troy and treat every guest as an intruder.
- Shadows of the Sea (Magische Vallei). The crew of the sunken Gouden Galjoen wanders the seabed looking for new members.
Parade, Fireworks, and the Shape of a Night
Halloween Nights begin at 6 p.m. with the parade in Port Laguna, which winds through the entrance area to Ithaka and ends between Land van Toos and Wunderwald. That is the moment the scare zones fill. All attractions, including the five roller coasters, run in the dark until the 11 p.m. close, the fireworks go up at 10:45 p.m. over Port Laguna, and at 11 p.m. the characters gather at the entrance for the Scream & Smile group photo.
Toverland describes the tone plainly on its FAQ: “atmospheric horror with an imaginative and often magical twist,” with “plenty of scares,” but “you will never see severed limbs or lots of blood at our park.” Several zones and experiences use strobe lighting, and the park lists The Witches Forest, Maison de la Magie, The Dollhouse, Shadows of the Sea, and DesTroy specifically. Filming is allowed in the scare zones without a light and not at all inside the Haunted Experiences. Costumes and face paint are for children 12 and under only, so guests are not confused with the actors.
Halloween Days: The Family Side
Halloween Days run 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on 17 dates for children under 12, with all attractions open. The 2026 program carries what the park calls more new additions than ever before, most of it in and around Halloween Village: the renewed Pumpkin Farm with thousands of pumpkins and metres-high pumpkin creations, Magisch Mais Mysterie (a kid-sized corn maze with familiar characters along the way), Little Pumpkins (a hay-bale walk for the youngest visitors), Morrels BOEderij in Land van Toos (children hide and scare their parents), and Heksenstreken, a roaming act of friendly witches. Two shows run in Port Laguna, Bodéga Magica and Toos & Morrel gaan griezelen, and the Bazaar in Land van Toos becomes a Toos & Morrel shop. Every element of the Days program carries a pumpkin rating for how scary it is.

Tickets and Prices
There is no separate Halloween Nights ticket. A dated Toverland ticket is valid from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Nights dates and includes all six scare zones. The Haunted Experiences cost extra.
- Park ticket: from €39.50 for anyone 140 cm and taller, from €32.50 for children 90 to 140 cm, free under 90 cm. Buying at least 7 days ahead takes up to €7 off (€3.50 for the smaller children). Inside 7 days the discount drops to €2 or 50 cents.
- Haunted Experiences: timed-entry tickets from €6.50 to €13 each, bookable with your park ticket, afterward in the ticket shop, or in the Toverland app on the day until slots fill.
- Fear Pass: €69.95 for one-time entry to all six Haunted Experiences through a separate skip-the-line queue, plus a physical pass and lanyard, an exclusive pin, and access to a Fear Pass terrace for the opening of the parade. Sold online only, limited per night, collected at the Mundo Magica shop in Port Laguna.
- Halloween Magic Wand: sold in the ticket shop and around the park, and it works in the scare zones only.
- Annual pass holders: Halloween Nights are included with no reservation, plus one free Haunted Experience through the Magic Member account.
- Parking: €13.50.
Getting There
Toverland is at Toverlaan 2, 5975 MR Sevenum, in the province of Limburg in the southeast of the Netherlands. On Halloween Nights the park runs a dedicated Kiss & Ride drop-off area with a diversion in place from 9 p.m., extra buses run after closing for public transport visitors, and the electric-car charging stations are switched off for the Halloween period. Free unguarded bike parking sits by the pedestrian promenade to the main entrance.
Where Toverland Sits on the European Halloween Calendar
Among the European parks HAN tracks, Toverland opens its scare season last, on the same night as Walibi Holland across the country. The calendar, from earliest to latest:

Two parks are claiming a European superlative this season, and they are measuring different things. Movie Park Germany bills its festival as Europe’s biggest by count of houses, zones, and actors. Toverland’s claim is about a single experience, the 7-hectare footprint of Entwined, and it is the park’s measurement, not an independent one. Where Toverland’s growth is verifiable is against itself: when HAN covered Halloween Nights in 2020, the event ran two haunted houses, one maze, five scare zones, and 120 scare actors over 14 nights.
