UNIVERSAL CITY, CA — The Simpsons’ “Treehouse of Horror” is finally part of Halloween Horror Nights, and for 2026 it arrives on a plate. Universal Studios Hollywood is serving five “Treehouse of Horror” food and drink items in Springfield on the Upper Lot during this year’s event, from a sloppy Joe called the Sloppy D’oh to a giant sprinkled doughnut that references one of the show’s most famous Halloween segments. There is no maze or haunted house this year. The tie-in is on the menu.
Universal previewed the food ahead of Halloween Horror Nights, which begins September 3 at Universal Studios Hollywood and runs on select nights through November 1.

The deep cuts fans will recognize
The names are the joke. The Mmm… Forbidden Pumpkin Donut comes in a box featuring Devil Flanders, a nod to “The Devil and Homer Simpson,” the segment from 1993’s “Treehouse of Horror IV” in which Homer sells his soul for a doughnut. The Pumpkin Spice Cold Boo continues the bit: its cup is labeled “Daddy’s Soul Donut,” the doughnut Homer tries to save one last bite of so the Devil cannot collect.
The rest run on catchphrases and characters. Wurst. Brat. Ever! turns Comic Book Guy’s “Worst. Episode. Ever.” into a bratwurst. Sloppy D’oh puts Homer’s signature groan on a sloppy Joe. Road Scrapin’s, a pile of loaded fries under fried chicken and gravy, plays like something Cletus the Slack-Jawed Yokel would serve.
Food now, maybe more later
For fans who have wanted the “Treehouse of Horror” tradition represented at Universal’s Halloween event, this is a first step rather than a full attraction. Attractions Magazine, which attended the preview, reported that Universal Studios Hollywood indicated this year’s representation is food only, with strong signs of more to come next year. The tie-in also lines up with hints that “The Simpsons” showrunner Matt Selman has dropped about the franchise’s Halloween tradition reaching Halloween Horror Nights.
