About The Evocative Workshop
The Evocative Workshop is a special effects make-up design and fabrication studio focused on characters, creature creation and production design. Its staff are filmmakers as well, and the studio takes on projects for film, television, theater, commercials, internet campaigns, special events, theme parks and attractions.
The make-up side covers prosthetic make-up, life-casting, sculpting, mold-making, silicone-gel filled appliances, prosthetic adhesive transfers, hair laying and punch work, and dental casting. It also does moulage, simulated trauma for first responder training scenarios. Creature and character work runs from concept illustration and maquettes to full sized creatures, animatronics, prosthetic eyes and hand, rod and body puppets. The studio also builds props and miniature sets and handles storyboards, photography, sound recording and digital film editing and post production.
The workshop has taught classes, including an introduction to sculpting class in Holbrook, New York, and says it is working to set up a training school for special effects disciplines. Consultations are booked by phone.
