Wendy’s is sitting out the pumpkin spice race this fall. Instead of a Pumpkin Spice Frosty, the chain has a new Apple Crumble Frosty Fusion, a vanilla Frosty swirled with spiced apple syrup and blended with crunchy oat crumble. Wendy’s pitched it directly as a fall flavor “beyond pumpkin spice,” and it is out now nationwide for a limited time.
What’s in it
The Apple Crumble Frosty Fusion is Wendy’s vanilla Frosty base swirled with spiced apple syrup and crunchy oat crumble, built to taste like apple crumble a la mode through a straw. It joins the permanent Frosty Fusions lineup alongside OREO Brownie, Caramel Crunch, and Cookie Dough. There is no Pumpkin Spice Frosty on the menu.
Not pumpkin, on purpose
Wendy’s is not the only chain steering around pumpkin spice this year. In its announcement, Wendy’s framed the Frosty for customers craving a taste of fall “beyond pumpkin spice.” McDonald’s went the same route, swapping its pumpkin coffee for a Caramel Apple Pie latte. Starbucks kept the Pumpkin Spice Latte but added a chai-cider Chaider, and Dunkin’ padded its pumpkin lineup with a tiramisu collection. Apple and other beyond-pumpkin flavors are a real part of the fall story this year.
The rest of the fall menu
The Frosty is the sweet side of a pub-themed fall menu. Wendy’s also brought back the Pretzel Bacon Pub Cheeseburger and added a Pretzel Bacon Pub Chicken Sandwich and Bacon Pub Fries.
When and where
The Apple Crumble Frosty Fusion launched nationwide on August 3, 2026, and Wendy’s is selling it throughout fall 2026 for a limited time. Wendy’s has not listed a separate price.
