Dead of Night, a mystery-horror slasher starring Dermot Mulroney, Scott Grimes, Jake Busey and Kirrilee Berger, opens in theaters on Friday, November 13, from Level 33 Entertainment, and comes to on demand on Tuesday, January 12, 2027. Chris Jericho, the wrestler who appeared in Terrifier 2 and Terrifier 3, is in the cast and is an executive producer.

Dead of Night Plot

The mutilated body of a teenage girl turns up in a small town, and as the gruesome murders continue, terror turns into hysteria. Sheriff Weaver, played by Mulroney, races to identify the killer while a desperate mayor tries to calm the town. His daughter Kelly, played by Berger, starts digging into the murders herself, convinced there is something far more sinister behind the killings, and she sets out to uncover the killer’s twisted motives before the killer zeros in on her and her family.

Derek Sulek directed Dead of Night and wrote it with Erick Durham. Sulek is a Los Angeles filmmaker and co-owner of Fade to Black Films, and he directed the 2023 thrillers Trapped in the Cabin and Chaos on the Farm. The film’s press notes say it was inspired in part by the fear surrounding the real-life Night Stalker era, and it was shot in Los Angeles with a local cast and crew.

Who Stars in Dead of Night

Mulroney, of My Best Friend’s Wedding and About Schmidt, plays the sheriff, and Berger, of Unsung Hero, plays his daughter. Scott Grimes (Ted, Oppenheimer) and Jake Busey (Stranger Things, Rust) co-star, and Grimes is also an executive producer. Alex Camacho, Zach Justice and Sean Whalen are also in the cast.
