Hong Kong runs the boldest villain programming of any Disney park, but it is not a haunt: the resort retired its scare-maze era more than a decade ago, and today’s event is a family-friendly, villain-centric overlay that runs day into evening on a regular ticket.
What Stays Stable
The dependable core, confirmed across 2024 and 2025: the villain musical “Let’s Get Wicked” at Theater in the Wild, the Trick-or-Treat Trail, Jack Skellington’s Nightmare Before Dinner at River View Cafe, villain-and-hero character pairings roaming the park, Halloween decor from the giant Mickey pumpkin head to the villains’ cauldron at the castle, more than a hundred seasonal merchandise items, and Halloween programming across all three resort hotels.
What Changes Each Year
The headline show is the moving part. In 2024 it was a daytime street party with Mickey and Friends on jack-o’-lantern floats plus the Cruella-hosted House of De Vil-lains walkthrough. In 2025 both gave way to “Uninvited! A Villains Takeover Party,” with Maleficent leading eleven villains down Main Street, plus a new after-dark Jungle River Cruise overlay and the park debut of the Scarlet Witch. Expect 2026 to bring its own new headliner, which is exactly what this page will capture when the announcement lands.
