What Each District Has

  • Central. Statue Square Gardens has giant eyeballs, a gateway, and a haunted jail among its installations, and Chater Road closes the run with a cosplay street party on Halloween night.
  • Kai Tak. The Dining Cove party has neon light installations, a Halloween market, a pet photo spot, and a DJ set of Cantonese pop hits.
  • Lan Kwai Fong. DJs play The Plaza while cosplayers roam the streets, and photographers post costume photos to a live album.
  • Mong Kok. A red minibus turned into the “Mong Kok Haunted Minibus” by toy artist DANSIN is parked on Portland Street, and on October 31 it runs as a free shuttle between Langham Place and Parkes Street in Jordan. The street fest also has free Halloween soft-serve.
  • Tsim Sha Tsui East. Mody Road Garden has a free family carnival from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. and a cosplay DJ party from 7 p.m. The themes are Character Cosplay on October 17, Movie Magic on October 24, and the Grand Halloween Gala on October 31.

“What was once concentrated on a single day or a few venues is being upgraded into ‘Hong Kong Halloween Month’, a city-wide celebration spanning an entire month,” said Anthony Lau, executive director of the Hong Kong Tourism Board.

Anyone in costume rides both for free, and no departure times have been published.
