Oogie Boogie Bash, A Disney Halloween Party, is sold out for general admission in 2026, according to Disneyland. The after-hours party runs from 6 to 11 p.m. on 33 select nights through October 31 at Disney California Adventure, and the main way left to get in is a Disneyland VIP Tour that includes event tickets.
The party opened on Tuesday, August 18. This year’s printed event guide lists 11 treat trails, with Yzma and Maleficent sharing one on Grizzly Peak Trail, and Madame Leota’s Swinging Wake, a Haunted Mansion street party, runs twice a night in place of the retired Frightfully Fun Parade. The Headless Horseman now rides on his own, and a new Headless Horseman popcorn bucket is sold only to party guests.
How to still get in now that tickets are sold out
Disneyland lists general admission tickets for every 2026 night as sold out. Tickets were sold online only, never on the day of the event, and Disney’s terms say they may not be resold or transferred for commercial purposes, so there is no gate line to fall back on.
The Oogie Boogie Bash VIP Tour is the way in that Disney still sells. It runs from August 30 through October 31 and includes Park Hopper admission and event tickets, plus expedited access to attractions and select treat trails, private viewing for Madame Leota’s Swinging Wake, and a VIP Lounge at Carthay Circle Restaurant. Disney lists its VIP Tours at $500 to $800 per hour, before the guide’s gratuity. Book by calling (714) 300-7710.
As of September 23, Disneyland’s event page also still pointed D23 members to tickets for the September 27 D23 night, sold through D23.com.
Already have a ticket? The Oogie Boogie Bash Dessert Party can still be booked for your night. No ticket? Disney’s answer for a sold-out Bash is daytime Halloween Time, which puts Haunted Mansion Holiday, Plaza de la Familia, and Mater’s Graveyard JamBOOree on regular park admission. Should you go? The short answer first
I have attended Oogie Boogie Bash every year, including opening night this year, and my honest take on 2026 is this. If you came in 2025 and you have a Magic Key, most of what you saw came back essentially unchanged. Unless you specifically wanted to see Madame Leota’s Swinging Wake, Yzma, or another new-for-2026 element, I would not have recommended spending another $139 to $199 on a ticket this year.
If you have never been, or you do not have a Magic Key, that math flips. Wait times inside Disney California Adventure drop dramatically after 7 p.m. once day guests clear, and the villain treat trails, Villains Grove, meet-and-greets, and street party are exclusive to the Bash. You cannot see any of that on a regular admission ticket. Seeing it all in one five-hour window takes planning, but for a first-timer, it is worth the price. First-timer verdicts across other outlets skew strongly positive.

What is new for 2026
- Madame Leota’s Swinging Wake: A Haunted Mansion Street Party. The Haunted Mansion-inspired replacement for the Frightfully Fun Parade runs twice a night. HAN’s Halloween Time at Disneyland hub has the full context.
- Yzma joined the villain lineup. It is Yzma’s first face-character appearance at a U.S. Disney park, and she shares a treat trail with Maleficent on Grizzly Peak Trail. See my Yzma coverage for the announcement details.
- 33 nights, up from 31 in 2025 and 27 in 2024, added via denser September and October scheduling.
- The Headless Horseman rides on his own. In prior years he opened each parade performance. In 2026 he has his own two nightly runs, billed on the event guide as Headless Horseman Rides Again.
- The Headless Horseman Bucket, a new popcorn bucket sold only to Oogie Boogie Bash guests for now.
- 11 treat trails on the 2026 map, down from 12 in 2025.
Dates and hours
Oogie Boogie Bash runs 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. on select Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, with Halloween itself (Saturday, October 31) as the only weekend date. Party tickets include early mix-in entry to Disney California Adventure at 3 p.m., three hours before the party officially opens. No separate day ticket or park reservation is needed to use the mix-in.
Full 2026 date list: August 18, 20, 23, 25, 27, and 30. September 1, 3, 6, 8, 10, 13, 15, 17, 20, 22, 24, 27, and 29. October 1, 4, 6, 8, 11, 13, 15, 18, 20, 22, 25, 27, 29, and 31. September 27 is the D23 member night.
Tickets were $139 to $199 depending on the night, for ages 3 and up, with no Magic Key, military, or group discounts, and parking was not included. General sale opened June 18, after Magic Key presales on June 16 and 17.

Every ticketed guest gets a printed event guide with the map, one per guest, and a treat bag at arrival. The 2026 guide lists 11 treat trails, with candy like M&M’S, Snickers, and Skittles.

Five of the eight villain trails are in Hollywood Land, so that is the place to start if candy is the goal. In 2025, the trails in Cars Land, on Buena Vista Street, and in Paradise Gardens Park were candy-only, with no villain. Yokai, who hosted a 2025 trail in San Fransokyo Square, is not on the 2026 map. Cast members at every treat trail have allergy-friendly and no-sugar-added options.

Disney’s August 12 lineup named Pain, Panic, and Megara from Hercules, Black Panther, Spider-Man, and Scarlet Witch from Marvel, and Edna Mode and Mr. Incredible from The Incredibles. Plan around the Sanderson Sisters: in 2025 their line ran two to three hours at peak.

- Headless Horseman Rides Again: 7:45 p.m. and 10:05 p.m., starting near Guardians of the Galaxy, Monsters After Dark.
- Madame Leota’s Swinging Wake: 8:05 p.m., starting near The Little Mermaid, Ariel’s Undersea Adventure, and 10:15 p.m., starting near Guardians of the Galaxy, Monsters After Dark.
- Buena Vista Street Treat Trail: begins at 9 p.m.
The Swinging Wake moves along Performance Corridor with stops in Hollywood Land, on the San Fransokyo Square waterfront, and near The Little Mermaid. It is an “eerie-sistable ghost party” with “spooky music, energetic dancing and spirited Characters,” hosted by Madame Leota, Disney says. Dessert Party guests watch from a reserved area in front of Sonoma Terrace.

The retired parade
The Frightfully Fun Parade is not running in 2026. It debuted at Disneyland’s Mickey’s Halloween Party in 2016, moved to Disney California Adventure in 2019 for the inaugural Oogie Boogie Bash, and ran every year since, except 2020, when the parks were closed. The 2026 pause is tied to Coco attraction construction that blocks the west side of the parade route. A full-scale parade is not expected to return to Disney California Adventure until at least 2028.

Villains Grove
The self-guided Villains Grove walkthrough returned at Redwood Creek Challenge Trail in Grizzly Peak. It is an atmospheric ten-minute experience with projection mapping, fog, and sound design, not a scare maze. Disney’s 2026 description names Dr. Facilier, Frollo, and Scar among the villains, and scenes in 2025 also evoked Maleficent, the Queen of Hearts, and the Evil Queen from Snow White. There are no characters or candy inside. In past years the Grove opened after dark, scheduled around 8 p.m. but sometimes as early as 7:15.

Rides and attractions during the party
Party tickets include access to select rides at Disney California Adventure with typically shorter waits, especially after 7 p.m. once daytime guests clear the park. Disney points to shorter waits on Incredicoaster, Toy Story Midway Mania, and Guardians of the Galaxy, Monsters After Dark.
Halloween attraction overlays (also available in daytime Halloween Time, not exclusive to the Bash):
- Guardians of the Galaxy, Monsters After Dark. Mission: BREAKOUT closes around 2 p.m. and reopens around 3 p.m. as the Halloween overlay.
- Luigi’s Honkin’ Haul-O-Ween in Cars Land.
- Mater’s Graveyard JamBOOree in Cars Land.
- Radiator Screams, Cars Land’s evening transformation with a nightly neon “Sha-BOO” moment.
Lightning Lane access (Multi Pass, Premier Pass, Single Pass) is disabled during the event. Waits are the primary access mechanic.
Important: An Oogie Boogie Bash ticket admits guests to Disney California Adventure only. It does not include Disneyland Park, which means no Haunted Mansion Holiday, no Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy, no Halloween Screams fireworks, no Galaxy’s Edge. Guests who want both parks in one visit need a separate Disneyland ticket or a Park Hopper.
Food, drinks, and the Headless Horseman Bucket
The Headless Horseman Bucket is new this year, and for now only Oogie Boogie Bash guests can buy it. It is sold at Hollywood Lounge, the popcorn carts at Grizzly Peak Airfield, Pixar Pier, and near Carthay Circle Restaurant, Smokejumpers Grill, and select outdoor vending locations while supplies last. Disney limits it to two per person, per transaction, with no discounts, and mobile order works at select locations.
The Haunted Highway Cocktail at Cozy Cone 4, Frozen Cone-Coctions, is the party’s specialty drink: tequila, pineapple lemonade with blue Curaçao, apple liqueur, and Sprite, topped with grenadine and gummy worms.
Before the party starts, the regular Halloween Time menu is open, including the Oktoberfest Dog at Award Wieners and the Pumpkin Pie Mickey Shake from Schmoozies. My Disneyland Halloween foodie guide has every seasonal item. Reviewer consensus in 2025 was to eat dinner during the 3 to 6 p.m. mix-in rather than during party hours.
Oogie Boogie Bash 2026 merchandise
Event merchandise is sold at Elias & Co., Gone Hollywood, and Seaside Souvenirs while supplies last, and the 2026 line on opening night included a hoodie, a tee, a tote, a cap, pins, ears, a photo frame, and a ceramic Oogie Boogie head.

Dessert Party and PhotoPass
The Oogie Boogie Bash Dessert Party costs $94 per guest, tax and gratuity included, and you need a party ticket for the same night to book it. It includes an Oogie Boogie-themed box of charcuterie and cheeses, Halloween desserts, an exclusive collectible enamel pin, one alcoholic drink for guests 21 and older, unlimited soft drinks, and reserved seating for the Swinging Wake in front of Sonoma Terrace. The menu highlights are a triple chocolate cheesecake, a candy-coated chocolate crisped rice treat, a Dubai chocolate-inspired filled bundt cake with pistachio crunch, and a sugar cookie. The street party starts about 45 minutes after your reservation time.
Event PhotoPass is included. Unlimited digital photo downloads are captured between 6 p.m. and 11 p.m., accessed by scanning the wristband QR code in the Disneyland app, and can be downloaded for up to 45 days.
Costume rules
Costumes are welcome for all ages, with restrictions. Guests cannot pose for photos or sign autographs as their character, and costumes cannot include weapons, items resembling real weapons, or sharp or pointed objects. Costumes that reach or drag on the ground, like full-length princess dresses, are not permitted.
Ages 13 and under: costumes and some masks allowed, provided the mask does not cover the entire face and eyes remain visible.
Ages 14 and older: masks are not permitted (medical only). Capes are allowed only if they do not reach or drag on the ground. Themed shirts, hats, transparent wings, plastic lightsabers, toy swords, and tutus are acceptable. Full costume policy is on Disneyland.com.
Enforcement is active, and guests can be denied entry or removed.
Arrival strategy
Line up 30 to 40 minutes before the 3 p.m. mix-in, since cast members sometimes admit early. Use 3 to 6 p.m. to eat dinner via mobile order, ride the major rides, take daylight photos at pumpkin displays, and pick up the party wristband at an in-park checkpoint (near Blue Sky Cellar, across from Cars Land, or the Grand Californian entrance) rather than fighting the main-gate line. Non-ticketed day guests are cleared out by 6 p.m.
The provided treat bag is small, approximately 20 pieces of candy. Bring a backpack, reusable tote, or pillowcase.
Every night is sold out, so plan for a full park. In past years, late October nights, Sundays, and Halloween night were more crowded than early-season nights.
Is Oogie Boogie Bash worth it in 2026?
I have attended Oogie Boogie Bash every year since it launched. With general admission sold out, this verdict is also for anyone weighing the VIP Tour or planning for next year.
For repeat Magic Key holders who came in 2025, my recommendation is to skip it unless one of three things is true. First, Madame Leota’s Swinging Wake, Yzma, or another new-for-2026 element is the specific reason you want to go. Second, you have money to spend on an event where you have already seen 90 percent of what happens. Third, you are creating content or covering the event professionally. Otherwise, the treat trails, meet-and-greets, and Villains Grove are essentially the same as last year, the parade is gone, and Disney did not add a stage show or nighttime spectacular beyond the street party. A yearly Magic Key attendee who came last year will find most of it familiar.
For guests without Magic Keys and first-timers, this is a different calculation. Wait times inside the park drop dramatically after 7 p.m. once day guests clear, and the villain treat trails, Villains Grove, meet-and-greets, and street party are exclusive to the Bash. You cannot see any of that on a regular admission ticket. Seeing everything in one five-hour window takes planning, but for someone who has never done it, the Bash packs all of Disney’s party-only Halloween entertainment into one night. First-timer verdicts across multiple outlets skew strongly positive, and I would recommend it.
For guests who mainly want the marquee Disneyland Park Halloween experiences (Haunted Mansion Holiday, Halloween Screams, Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy, and both parks’ decor and ride overlays), the daytime Halloween Time season delivers all of those on a regular admission ticket. Those experiences are at Disneyland Park itself, not at Disney California Adventure where the Bash runs, and none of them are included on an Oogie Boogie Bash ticket.
