Spirit Halloween’s “10-for-10” coupon takes 10% off your entire purchase, and Spirit donates a matching 10% to a children’s hospital in your area. It’s the annual Spirit of Children charity effort, the retailer’s charity, which has raised more than $164 million for children’s hospitals across the U.S. and Canada since 2006.
How to Use the Coupon
The 10-for-10 takes 10% off your entire Spirit Halloween order, and Spirit donates a matching 10% to the Child Life department at a partner children’s hospital near the store — Spirit says 100% of what a community raises stays in that community. There are two ways to use it: present the coupon at any Spirit Halloween store, or enter its promo code at checkout on SpiritHalloween.com. The exact code varies by the partner hospital the coupon comes from — HOPE26 and GIVING26 are both going around this year — so use the one printed on the coupon you pick up. It is single-use and limited to one per customer, and it is valid through October 31, 2026. A handful of the big-ticket animatronics are excluded — Jumping Spider, the Sitting and Scary Sitting Scarecrows, Cerberus, Gourdo, Art the Clown, and Freddy Fazbear — and it does not apply to prior purchases or taxes. The coupon is handed out through Spirit’s partner children’s hospitals rather than Spirit’s own website, so to grab the printable version, look for it on a partner hospital’s giving page.
Spirit runs the 10-for-10 every Halloween season as part of its Spirit of Children fundraiser, so the discount comes back each fall.
What Spirit of Children Is
Spirit of Children began in 2006 with Halloween parties at just 11 hospitals. Twenty years later it works with more than 165 partner hospitals across the United States and Canada and has raised over $164 million. The money funds Child Life departments — the specialists and programs that help kids handle the fear, boredom, and stress of being in the hospital. Spirit says the dollars go toward child life staff, sensory equipment, art, music and pet therapy, playrooms and teen spaces, and family support. It also donates more than 20,000 costumes a year so young patients can still dress up, and says more than 13,000 children and families take part in its hospital Halloween parties each season.
Where the Money Goes
The program is national, but it runs hospital by hospital, and the local totals add up. In New Jersey, K. Hovnanian Children’s Hospital at Hackensack Meridian Jersey Shore University Medical Center said this month that Spirit has given it more than $900,000 over 11 straight years. In Dallas, Children’s Health says the partnership has raised about $2.7 million over 13 years, and Shriners Children’s puts its own total at more than $10 million since 2007. At each hospital, the money funds the Child Life department — art, music, and pet therapy, toys and tablets that distract kids during procedures, and support for families under stress. “We are so grateful that Spirit Halloween has chosen to benefit the Child Life program at the Children’s Hospital for more than a decade,” said Ellen Hahn, director of fundraising at K. Hovnanian.
The hospitals put a face to it, too. Children’s Health’s 2026 Spirit of Children ambassador is Samantha, a heart and kidney transplant recipient who loves Halloween and costumes so much that the staff calls her “Halloween Girl.”
Spirit has also supplied costumes and party supplies so young patients can celebrate Halloween during a hospital stay.
