The short answer: yes, Spirit Halloween is open. Nearly all of the stores on Spirit’s locator have opened for 2026, the last ones open by October 1, and almost all of them close for the season on November 2. Most stores open at 10 a.m. and close between 7 and 10 p.m., depending on the day.

Is Spirit Halloween open right now?
Yes. Spirit’s homepage banner reads “STORES NOW OPEN!” As of September 23, 1,526 of the 1,587 stores on Spirit’s locator list an opening date that has already passed, including all 90 of its Canadian stores.
The other 61 are all in the U.S., and they open between September 24 and October 1: 15 on September 24, 14 on September 25, and the last 6 on October 1. By state, the stores still to open are:
- California: 13
- New York: 6
- Georgia and North Carolina: 4 each
- Florida, Illinois, Missouri, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia: 3 each
- Massachusetts and Washington: 2 each
- Alabama, Arizona, Colorado, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Vermont, Wisconsin and Wyoming: 1 each
Until a store opens, its hours on the locator read closed every day. Once it opens, its page switches to daily hours.
What are Spirit Halloween’s hours?
Hours are set store by store, but most follow one pattern. As of September 23, most store pages on Spirit’s locator list:
- Sunday: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Monday: 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- Tuesday through Saturday: 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Some stores keep shorter hours. Most store pages also changed their Monday closing time from 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. on September 23, so check your own store’s page before a late trip.
When does Spirit Halloween close for the season?
Almost every Spirit Halloween closes for the season on Monday, November 2, two days after Halloween. That is the closing date in the store data for 1,548 of the 1,587 stores on Spirit’s locator, including every Canadian store.
The other 39 close on Halloween itself, Saturday, October 31. They are in New York (5), Illinois, Michigan and Pennsylvania (4 each), Florida, Indiana, Massachusetts and Ohio (3 each), Connecticut, Tennessee and Virginia (2 each), and Maryland, North Carolina, New Jersey and South Carolina (1 each).

How the 2026 season started
Spirit’s season started on Saturday, August 1, with the grand opening of its flagship store at 6725 Black Horse Pike in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey. Our flagship grand opening coverage has the full day.
Spirit’s August 18 release said more than 1,550 stores were opening across North America. The count above is what Spirit’s store pages show on September 23. The 2026 in-store theme is Camp Harbor Lake, an abandoned-camp setup inspired by campfire tales and 80s horror, built out at select stores.
