Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party has pulled a handful of characters straight out of the Haunted Mansion for 2026, and they came ready with material. The new meet-and-greets near the party’s welcome area put guests face to face with two of the manor’s residents, the all-new ghost Lady Fermotta and the mansion’s very-much-alive steward Blair Lockward. Other outlets also reported a rare character appearance by the Mansion’s Grave Diggers at the party. We recorded the two greeters, and the jokes are the best part.
Lady Fermotta, the afterlife of the party
Lady Fermotta is an all-new Haunted Mansion character, stationed on a vine-covered platform in a flowing white-and-blue gown, working the crowd behind a lace fan. She opens with a riff on the ride’s most quoted line, that the mansion has 999 happy haunts with room for a thousand, and it only gets more deadpan from there.
“I used to be the life of the party, and now I’m the afterlife of the party.”
Her bit leans hard into ghost puns and, improbably, modern dating. She laments her love life with the kind of line you do not expect from a Gracey-era spirit.
“I got ghosted. It could happen to anyone.”
She even drags Constance Hatchaway, the Mansion’s infamous black-widow bride, into a swipe at app culture, claiming the much-married ghost “swipes left, swipes right and always comes out ahead.”
Blair Lockward, chief steward of the Haunted Mansion
A short walk away, Blair Lockward introduces himself as the chief steward of the Haunted Mansion, one of the manor’s very few living residents. He is dressed in the Mansion’s signature dark green and purple under a green-striped tent, and he greets guests before hurrying them along to the first candy stop of the night. His humor runs to self-deprecation.
“Is this haunted room actually stretching, or is it my waistline? I did stop at the candy stops earlier.”
He works in the stretching-room gag, the “no windows and no doors” line, and a story about his father telling him he makes a better door than a window. He also drops the tip that pays off later in the night.
A rare turn for the Grave Diggers
The detail longtime Mansion fans will care about most is the Grave Diggers. WDW News Today reported that they made a rare character appearance for the party, dressed in dark green suits with purple vests, black ties, and white gloves, carrying their trademark shovels and posing for photos on the party welcome street early in the night. We did not catch them ourselves and cannot confirm when they appear, but Blair Lockward name-checks two of them during his greeting, Doug and Phil, and warns that they turn up in the parade too.
“They’re always plotting.”
Rounding out the lineup is a third ghost-host greeter in a green dress and striped apron, posted beside gargoyle candelabras and a plaque reading “31,” a nod to either Halloween or the party’s 31st year. The M&M gang also turn up, worked into Haunted Mansion-style portraits.
When and where to see them
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party runs on select nights from August 7 through October 31, 2026, at Magic Kingdom. The Haunted Mansion greeters are near the party’s welcome area, and the Grave Diggers set up on the welcome street, so getting there early is the move if you want a photo before the lines build.
