Universal has announced Evil Dead Burn haunted houses at both of its United States Halloween Horror Nights events this fall, tied to New Line Cinema’s newly released sixth film in the Evil Dead franchise. The houses open August 28 at Universal Orlando Resort and September 3 at Universal Studios Hollywood. Tickets and multi-night pass options at both parks are on sale now.
What the house is
Both houses are built around Evil Dead Burn, the sixth Evil Dead film, which opened in U.S. theaters July 10, 2026. Universal’s description sends guests to the Price family’s secluded vacation home in the woods, where Deadites overrun the property once the Book of the Dead is reopened. Per Universal’s release, “the nightmare grows more and more fierce as guests venture through the haunted house, encountering ferocious Deadites around every turn before succumbing to the evil forces themselves.”
Universal Studios Hollywood’s own tagline for the house: “The Book of the Dead has been reopened, and now an infernal force consumes a family home… encounter not just the root of evil, but the whole family tree.”
The 2026 house is the Evil Dead franchise’s third appearance at HHN and its first movie-tie-in house in 13 years. Universal Orlando staged an “Evil Dead” house at HHN 23 in 2013, based on Fede Álvarez’s franchise reboot. HHN 27 in 2017 followed up with an “Ash vs. Evil Dead” house tied to the Starz series. Evil Dead Burn is the first house tied to a theatrical Evil Dead release since 2013.
Where and when to see it
Evil Dead Burn will be at both U.S. HHN events. Universal has not announced a house at Universal Studios Japan, Universal Studios Singapore, or Universal Beijing, all of which program their own lineups.
Universal Orlando Resort (HHN 35): Select nights from August 28 through November 1, 48 event nights total (the event’s earliest start in its 35-year history). Evil Dead Burn is available from opening night. Orlando’s ticket menu includes single-night tickets from $87.99, the four multi-night Frequent Fear passes on sale from $229.99, the standard R.I.P. Tour (from $399.99), the new 5-House R.I.P. Tour ($299.99+), Premium Scream Night ($399, invite/ticketed on Aug. 27 and Oct. 19), Behind-the-Screams daytime tours, and the Scream Early add-on ($70) that opens the park at 2 p.m. with early access to select houses.
Universal Studios Hollywood: Select nights from September 3 through November 1, 42 event nights, starting at 7 p.m. each night. Evil Dead Burn opens with the event. Hollywood’s ticket menu includes General Admission (from $77), Universal Express, R.I.P. Tour, Day/Night and After 2 P.M. Day/Night combo tickets, the $20 Early Access add-on (entry to select houses from 5:30 p.m.), plus the Frequent Fear Pass and the Ultimate Fear Pass ($299).
Cast and creative team
Evil Dead Burn was directed by Sébastien Vaniček, who co-wrote the film with Florent Bernard. Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert produced through Ghost House Pictures; Bruce Campbell and Lee Cronin (the director of 2023’s Evil Dead Rise) served as executive producers. The film credits “Based on: Characters by Sam Raimi.”
The cast includes Souheila Yacoub as Alice, Hunter Doohan as Joseph, Luciane Buchanan as Thya, Tandi Wright as Susan, George Pullar as Will, and Erroll Shand as Edgar.
The cross-studio wrinkle
Evil Dead Burn is a New Line Cinema film, distributed in the United States and Canada by Warner Bros. Pictures and internationally by Sony Pictures Releasing International. That makes the HHN house a cross-studio licensing arrangement: a Warner Bros./New Line horror property staged at an NBCUniversal theme-park event. Universal has done this before (Warner Bros.’s IT at HHN 27 and 28, for example), but it is worth noting each time the licensing lines cross.
Merchandise
Universal is dropping a limited-release Evil Dead Burn collection in the parks on Tuesday, July 21, with the same collection landing on shopUniversal.com the next day at 9 a.m. PST. The collection includes a T-shirt, a hat, and an acrylic figure designed for the season’s infernal carnival collectible display. Universal says additional Evil Dead Burn merchandise is coming later in the season.
