Big-box stores put a lot of their splashy energy into towering animatronics this year, but airblown inflatables are still the budget-friendly, plug-in-and-go pick, and the licensed giants keep getting bigger. Spirit Halloween: hearses, clowns, and licensed scares

Spirit’s inflatables top out smaller than the colossal giants, but they play up the brand’s horror side, with several light-up and licensed pieces.

• 14-foot Hearse: $149.99, Spirit’s biggest inflatable.
• 12-foot Young Hee (Squid Game): $149.99.
• 12-foot Killer Klowns from Outer Space: on sale at $129.98, from $179.99, as of October 10.
• The 9-foot jack-o’-lantern archway, the 12-foot Jack the Reaper archway and the 8-foot Spinning Eye Clown were in this guide in September and were not in Spirit’s inflatables listing on October 10.

Home Depot: the widest range

Home Depot carries the deepest mix, from cheap giants to licensed characters, most of them from Gemmy’s Airblown line plus third-party brands like Joyfy and Karl home.

• 12-foot Karl home Pumpkins Ghost ($59.98) and a 12-foot Joyfy Witch ($54.98): the cheapest giants here.
• 8.5-foot Jack and Oogie archway (Nightmare Before Christmas): $249.00.

• 5-foot Jabberin Jack, a talking animated pumpkin with a built-in projector: $99.00.

New for 2026, Gemmy added a spooky-cute set of smaller Airblown characters at Home Depot, sold under the Home Accents Holiday label. All are LED-lit and self-inflating, with ground stakes included. Lowe’s: Gemmy’s exclusive Airblown line

New for 2026, Gemmy made its Halloween Airblown line exclusive to Lowe’s, a seven-piece set built around one towering focal point plus smaller yard characters.

The showstopper is the 8-foot Fire and Ice Ghost ($49.98), with glowing red eyes, claw-like hands, and blue-and-white base lighting. Around it are a caped Vampire Corgi ($19.98), a Monster Hand ($34.98), a Trick-or-Treating Ghost ($19.98), a Mummy and Pumpkin Kid scene ($39.98), and a Candy Corn ($19.98). Target’s inflatables skew small and affordable, and two are Sanrio tie-ins.

Walmart: Gemmy’s cute critter line

New for 2026, Gemmy is selling a cast of small “critter” inflatables through Walmart, in stores and online. These lean cute rather than scary: pets, farm animals, and aquatic creatures in witch hats and skeleton costumes, most standing about 3.5 feet tall. The full lineup:

• Skeleton Highland Cow (3.5 ft): oversized horns and a playful skeleton outfit.
• Ghost Cow (3.5 ft): a sheet-style ghost costume, holding a pumpkin treat bag.
• Skeleton Corgi (3.5 ft): a dangling pink tongue, an oversized witch hat, and a skeleton costume.
• Hot Dog Dachshund (4 ft wide): a dachshund dressed in a hot dog costume with a pumpkin treat bag.
• Golden Puppy (3.5 ft): a purple and black striped witch hat and a candy treat bag.
• Tabby Cat (4 ft): orange eyes and a tall, orange-accented witch hat.
• Black Cat (3 ft wide): a crouching pose and a witch hat, in orange, green, and purple.

How to pick a Halloween inflatable

A few things to weigh before you buy. Size matters more than it looks online, so check the height against your yard and doorway clearance, and remember the biggest giants need open space and calm weather to stay upright. Most inflatables include a built-in fan and stakes, and the lit ones need an outdoor-rated outlet nearby. Smaller 3-to-6-foot characters are the easiest to place and store, while a 25-foot licensed giant is a real commitment in both money and space.
