Every major Halloween retailer has now revealed its 2026 animatronics lineup, and this is the largest, wildest, most licensed-IP-heavy class in years. There’s a 14-foot Lord of the Rings Balrog that costs as much as a car, a life-size Freddy Fazbear finally arriving at Spirit Halloween, a 12-foot Home Depot Skelly with app-controlled voice modulation, and a Michael Myers animatronic with the original 1978 Halloween theme audio. The 2026 headliner: HalloweenCostumes.com
If you asked what defines the 2026 animatronics season, it’s HalloweenCostumes.com’s record-breaking 75+ piece catalog, led by a $24,999.99 Lord of the Rings Balrog that stands 13.75 feet tall, has flapping wings, and a whip arm synced to the film’s audio. It is one of the largest and most expensive retail animatronics ever built.
The rest of the class is nearly as ambitious:
- 12-foot Ghostbusters Stay Puft Marshmallow Man ($699.99) — a yard-eater with lip-sync animation.
- 25-foot Leatherface inflatable ($499.99) — from The Texas Chain Saw Massacre.

Spirit Halloween
Spirit’s 2026 collection has two headline stories.
First, the retailer’s first-ever life-size Freddy Fazbear animatronic ($499.99) from Five Nights at Freddy’s. Freddy raises both arms, lifts a microphone, has light-up eyes that track side to side, and plays FNAF game audio including a pulse timed to the “Toreador March” theme.
Second, the full 2026 Spirit animatronics collection, which introduces three tech upgrades across the lineup: industry-first conversation-response technology (on Willow Witch), Bluetooth-enabled audio (on Harmonica Hank), and outdoor-rated finishes standard. The seven headliners are:
- Trash Bandit ($149.99) — radioactive raccoon with blacklight-reactive decay.
- Harmonica Hank ($199.99) — backwoods drifter with a Bluetooth harmonica.
- Jeremy Jaws ($249.99) — diseased wanderer with slack-jawed motion.
- Doomsday Duo ($249.99) — two figures in glowing green.
- Willow Witch ($299.99) — the conversation-response headliner.
- Crackles ($299.99) — sinister carnival clown with a fractured porcelain mask.
- Michael Myers ($349.99) — head-scanning motion, twisting knife-lift, original 1978 Halloween theme audio.
The Michael Myers animatronic: 7 feet, $349.99
Spirit’s Michael Myers stands 7 feet tall, scans the room with head-tracking motion, lifts and twists his knife, and plays the original 1978 Halloween theme as he approaches. New for 2026: a licensed Ghost Face animatronic at $279.99, just over 6 feet 7, with a mask that pumps fake blood and four Roger L. Jackson lines from Scream (2022).
Spirit also has a third big-ticket licensed piece the collection reveal did not cover: a 6-foot-8 Alien Xenomorph animatronic at $449.99, with a torso that turns side to side and an inner jaw that snaps out. It is exclusive to Spirit, and as of this writing it cannot be ordered from the website, with shipping listed as out of stock.
Home Depot
Home Depot’s 2026 collection launched online July 16 and lands in stores in August. The headliners:
- The upgraded 12 FT Giant-Sized SKELLY ($299) with app-controlled voice modulation and LCD LifeEyes. Skelly has become Home Depot’s cultural signature and every year gets a tech refresh. (And the season’s stealth hit is not an animatronic at all: the viral $2.98 in-store-only Halloween bucket is back.)
- 11 FT Giant-Sized Mummy and 8 FT Perilous Plant Monster — new giants expanding the under-$300 large-format roster.
- Conversational parrot, app-controlled Lethal Lily update, and a 5.5 FT Evil Pixie for the interactive-tech push.
Costco
Costco’s 2026 collection leans warehouse-exclusive Disney. The showstopper is a 3.6-foot Mickey Pumpkin with Infinity Mirrors ($219.99), backed by a returning 62-inch Giant Ground Breaking Skeleton with LCD moving eyes, a full collection of Disney Nightmare Before Christmas licensed decor, and giant animatronics stretching from a 10-foot Jack Skellington to a 7-foot gargoyle.
Trick or Treat Studios (via TikTok: “Trike Terror”)
TikTok has been calling it the Trike Terror, but it is Trick or Treat Studios’ officially-licensed 1:1-scale Saw Billy the Puppet Deluxe Prop. The life-size animatronic has illuminated eyes, a moving mouth, and audio clips from the film — including Tobin Bell’s “I want to play a game.” The Saw franchise is trending upward as a licensed decor IP this year, and Trick or Treat Studios (Universal’s frequent HHN maze partner) has become the go-to for the horror-purist crowd who don’t want a mall-store product.
Tractor Supply
The farm-animal lane, and it is uncontested. Tractor Supply’s exclusive Red Shed brand sells a 60 in. Skeleton Cowboy animatronic with a swinging lasso and glowing red eyes for $199.99, a 23 in. Cowboy Groundbreaker for $49.99, a 14 in. carton of Deviled Eggs with zombie chicks hatching out of it for $49.99, and 12 in. mummy chick, goose and rooster animatronics at $19.99 each. - Five Nights at Freddy’s — Spirit’s Freddy Fazbear plus Target’s dedicated FNAF Halloween shop.
- Poppy Playtime — HalloweenCostumes.com’s Huggy Wuggy + CatNap animatronics.
- The Nightmare Before Christmas — Mayor of Halloween Town animatronic at HalloweenCostumes, plus Costco’s Disney NBC decor and Home Depot NBC-themed pieces.

Beyond animatronics: the collector-doll wave
If you track these IPs rather than the format, Mattel’s Monster High Skullector line added Michael Myers, Krampus, Oogie Boogie, and the Universal Monsters at San Diego Comic-Con, with prices from $44 to $70 and drops running from now through December. Michael Myers in particular is doing quadruple duty this season: Spirit’s $349.99 animatronic, a $70 collector doll, a $31.99 Target sweatshirt, and a $24.99 Spirit dog costume. The pet aisle is where the slashers went
The other 2026 category worth knowing about is pet costumes, and Spirit Halloween is the only retailer treating horror fans as the customer. Art the Clown, Michael Myers, Ghost Face, Chucky, Pennywise, and Sam from Trick ‘r Treat are all $24.99 dog costumes at Spirit, alongside $29.99 Buckle-Down Friday the 13th and A Nightmare on Elm Street collars and leashes. Lowe’s (Haunted Living)
Lowe’s sells its animatronics under the Haunted Living house brand, and its 2026 lineup leans pumpkin-first, with one skeleton getting the buzz this fall. The trending piece is the 5.7 ft Motion Activated Bluetooth DJ Lighted Skeleton ($299), a hooded DJ skeleton with a lit turntable and a speaker that syncs to your phone over Bluetooth. It is motion-activated with LED eyes, and as of this writing it is sold out online after more than 500 sold in a single week.
