Universal City, CA — Universal Studios Hollywood has announced Killer Klowns from Outer Space as a haunted house for Halloween Horror Nights 2026, the seventh of the event’s eight houses to be named. Per Universal’s announcement: “In this haunted house based on Killer Klowns from Outer Space, try not to become the cotton candy-covered snack of some seriously unfriendly visitors from worlds unknown.”
The house is built on the 1988 Chiodo Brothers cult film, and Hollywood knows the material. The Klowns ran as a Hollywood maze in 2019 and returned in 2022, which makes 2026 the property’s third appearance at the event, all three as houses.
Klowns on Both Coasts
The Hollywood house completes a two-coast Klown invasion for 2026. At Universal Orlando, the Klowns share a street with Terrifier’s Art the Clown in the Downtown Clowntown scare zone, and neither franchise has a house on that coast this year. That split gives the two events different jobs for the same IP. Orlando puts the Klowns outdoors where every guest walks past them. Hollywood puts them behind a door.
The Hollywood Lineup So Far
Killer Klowns joins six previously announced houses: Sinners, Stranger Things 5, Hellraiser, Evil Dead Burn, the original Dead, Deader, Deadest, and Ozzy Osbourne: Prince of Darkness. That leaves one house unannounced, plus the returning Terror Tram, which does not yet have a theme.
The next reveals have been expected around Midsummer Scream, the Long Beach Halloween convention running August 7 through 9.
Dates and Tickets
Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood runs a record 42 select nights, September 3 through November 1, with the event beginning at 7 p.m. and single-night tickets from $77.
