Three of North Carolina’s best-known haunted attractions run on a single ticket this November. The Legendary Haunt Tour visits Lake Hickory Haunts on Thursday, Woods of Terror on Friday, and Kersey Valley Spookywoods on Saturday, November 5 through 7. Tickets are on sale now at $560 for the bus package and $410 self-driving.
The tour is the haunt industry’s post-season field trip. Owners, actors, makeup artists, and enthusiasts travel together and get the kind of access the public never gets: lights-on walkthroughs, makeup and effects demonstrations, costume and production departments, and a construction tour of a haunt that is still being built. Produced by TransWorld, the company behind the annual Halloween and Attractions Show in St. Louis, it has run sixteen editions since 2010.

Woods of Terror
A North Carolina Halloween tradition since 1991, Woods of Terror in Greensboro bills “18 Haunted Attractions. One Legendary Night of Terror!” plus the Monster Midway entertainment zone that has anchored the event since 2001. It is an HAA-certified Iconic Top Haunt and a haunt we know well. Kersey Valley Spookywoods
The oldest of the three, established 1985 and now in its 42nd season on a working farm of more than 85 acres in Archdale, built around a 1925 farmhouse. Owners Tony and Donna Wohlgemuth run more than 180 scare actors, custom tractor-pulled wagons, and a year-round attractions property around it. The tour’s page calls it the most famous haunted attraction in the Southeast. Kersey Valley is also building a new haunt called CURSED, and tour attendees get a construction walkthrough of it on the Saturday. Lake Hickory Haunts
The self-billed Premier Haunt of the Carolinas marks its 15th year in 2026 with thirteen attractions built around an actual lake, including new Shipwrecked and Aquaphobia expansion offerings this season. Hear our Season 12 episode covering its 30-acre, water-ringed layout.
Tickets
2026 tickets are on sale. The bus tour is $560 and the self-driving option is $410, and both cover all three nights. Prices go up $20 on October 26. Neither figure includes taxes and fees.
The difference between the two is transportation. The bus package runs motor coaches from the host hotel to each haunt on all three nights. Self-driving attendees get the same haunt access and handle their own transport, including to the Saturday daytime activities.
Saturday’s optional daytime activities are sold separately at $49 for the zip line and $30 each for laser tag and axe throwing. Both tickets and activity add-ons are on the tour’s ticket page. Questions go to the tour at [email protected].

All three days run out of the host hotel in Greensboro. Registration and bus departures happen there each day.
Thursday, November 5: Lake Hickory Haunts
Registration runs 4:30 to 6 p.m. at the Marriott, and buses leave at 6 p.m. with a boxed dinner served on board. The private event at Lake Hickory Haunts runs 8 to 10 p.m. and covers a full walkthrough of the main attractions plus one ticket each for the 4D Asylum Experience, Dizzy Darts, axe throwing, the Buried Alive coffin ride, and Monster Mash. A mini escape adventure is included subject to availability. The Midway of Mayhem stays open with a DJ and a live set from The Bourbon Sons. Buses leave at 10 p.m. sharp.
Friday, November 6: Woods of Terror
The day opens with a free educational round table at the hotel from 11:30 a.m. to noon, included with registration. Registration runs 2 to 3 p.m. and buses reach Woods of Terror at 3:15. The lights-on tour starts at 3:30 and covers attraction walkthroughs, makeup and special effects demonstrations, the costume department, and production areas. Dinner is at 5:45. A short film presentation follows at 7:15, then the Woods of Terror opening parade at 7:30, and attendees head straight into the queue for the first attraction.
The ticket booth closes to the public around 9:30 p.m. and the Midway becomes tour-only around 9:45, which is the networking window. It runs until 10:00 to 10:30 depending on bus departures.
Saturday, November 7: Kersey Valley Spookywoods
Registration is open 1:15 to 2:15 p.m. and buses leave around 2:15. A later bus leaves the hotel around 5:15 p.m. for anyone who only wants the haunted houses. Self-driving attendees are on their own for the entire day, including the daytime activities and dinner.
The day covers admission to Spookywoods, a Lexington barbecue dinner at 5:30, and reserved group entry when the haunt opens to the public at 7:30 p.m.
Optional Saturday daytime activities
Check-in is 2:30 p.m. and activities run 3:00 to 5:30 p.m. Each takes about two hours, so attendees pick one.
- Zip line, $49. First 150 participants, ages 10 and up, 70 to 250 pounds.
- Outdoor laser tag, $30. First 40 participants, ages 6 and up.
- Outdoor axe throwing, $30. First 40 participants, ages 12 and up.
Anyone who skips the paid activities gets complimentary behind-the-scenes access instead. Two are listed: a Santa’s Workshop tour covering retail operations, merchandising, inventory management, and seasonal business planning, and a construction tour of CURSED covering attraction design, construction technique, creative development, and long-term expansion planning.
Host Hotel
The 2026 host hotel is the Marriott Greensboro Downtown at 304 North Greene Street, Greensboro. Registration and every bus departure run from there across all three days, so it is the practical base for the weekend whether or not you buy the bus package. Sixteen editions have visited haunts including Netherworld (2010 and 2019), Pennhurst Asylum and Eastern State Penitentiary (2011), House of Torment and 13th Floor San Antonio (2013), Hundred Acres Manor and ScareHouse (2016), Reapers Revenge, Field of Screams, and the Bates Motel (2017), Nashville Nightmare (2022), and last year’s Salt Lake City run through Fear Factory, Nightmare on 13th, the Haunted Forest, and Castle of Chaos.
