Santa is a zombie again at TWIX. Zombie Claus is back for a second year of Hallowmas, the candy bar’s Halloween-meets-Christmas campaign, with a photo and video contest that pays $20,000 in prizes through November 8, new skull-shaped TWIX, and a trick-or-treat stop in New York’s Williamsburg neighborhood on Halloween.

What Is Hallowmas?

Hallowmas is a holiday TWIX made up by joining Halloween and Christmas, and its mascot, Zombie Claus, is a Santa who was bitten by a zombie. Mars, which makes TWIX, ties the idea to the bar’s pairing of cookie and caramel. “When two things come together, they create something even better,” said Allison Miazga-Bedrick, Vice President of Marketing, Seasonal Portfolio at Mars.

How to Enter the $20,000 Contest

The TWIX Hallowmas Rewards Contest takes one photo or one video of up to 30 seconds per person, uploaded on TWIX’s Hallowmas page under one of two categories. Entries opened October 5 at 9 a.m. Eastern and close just before midnight Eastern on November 8. No purchase is needed, the entry does not have to show a TWIX, and it does not have to be posted on social media, according to the official rules.

Three winners split $20,000 in cash:

  • Grand prize: $10,000 and 200 TWIX bars
  • Most Hallowmas Spirit: $5,000 and 100 TWIX bars, for decor, food, a party, or any other mix of Halloween and Christmas
  • Best Zombie Claus Look-Alike: $5,000 and 100 TWIX bars

Entries in either category are also judged for the grand prize. The contest is open to legal U.S. residents 18 and older in the 50 states and Washington, D.C., and the rules void entries made with AI or other automated tools. A panel of judges scores each entry on Hallowmas spirit, creativity and originality, and storytelling, with no random drawing. TWIX says Zombie Claus is doing the judging and may react to entries on its social channels through October. The winners’ list is due after November 15.

TWIX Skulls and the Returning Halloween TWIX

TWIX Skulls, new for 2026 and announced by Mars in May, are TWIX in the shape of a skull, sold as Skull Singles and a Skull Share Size. Target lists the Share Size at 2.12 ounces. Two Halloween TWIX return with them: TWIX Ghoulish Green, which has a green cookie, and TWIX Fun Size.

In DoorDash’s Halloween candy orders last October, Haribo made the top 10 for the first time and knocked TWIX out of it, which I cover in my Halloween candy by state article. The rest of this season’s new candy is in my Halloween candy guide.

Zombie Claus in New York on Halloween

On October 31, Zombie Claus will walk the streets of Williamsburg in New York handing TWIX to trick-or-treaters, so the candy comes to you. The release gives no address or hours and points to TWIX’s social channels for them. Last year the campaign ran a two-night pop-up in Brooklyn, the Hallowmas Grotto at North 10th Street and Union Avenue, on October 31 and November 1.

Hallowmas in 2025 and 2026

The first Hallowmas was announced on October 22, 2025, 17 days later in the season than this one. It had one winner, a fan drawn from the comments on a TWIX social post who won $20,000, and a $2 Hallowmas Pack sold on TWIX’s site with Ghoulish Green Fun Size and a new TWIX Snowman. This year the same $20,000 goes to three winners picked by judges, and the new shape is a skull.

Home Depot put a Christmas version of its Halloween bucket on sale October 1 for $2.98, which I cover in my Home Depot Christmas bucket article, and Spirit Halloween lists 43 Spirit Christmas stores for 2026 in my Spirit Christmas locations tracker.
