About Great Lakes Scenic Design
Great Lakes Scenic Design is a scenic design and fabrication shop in Chicago, Illinois, that builds for haunted attractions, theater, live events and immersive attractions. It works as a full-service production house, from concept art, renderings and construction drafting through fabrication and installation at the client’s property.
Its haunted attraction work includes the Midnight Facade, a ghost chamber and an animated mausoleum at Cedar Point in 2024, along with Victorian facades for a haunted attraction in New York. Other projects include a light maze and a Chicago Theater marquee at Navy Pier, an Arctic Norway escape game for Sixty to Escape, a Janelle James special for Netflix in 2026, and theater sets for the University of Illinois, including Carrie: The Musical and Little Women. Case studies on the site also cover a funhouse maze for Amazing Chicago, the Earth to Kenzie tour and the Lyric Opera of Chicago.
The shop cites more than 15 years of experience, and its contact form is set up for amusement parks, haunted houses and theatrical productions.
