LEGO’s Halloween 2026 sets are out, including a $29.99 jack-o’-lantern that lights up when you press its stem and a $19.99 skull candle with swappable glow-in-the-dark eyes. Both are available now at LEGO.com, alongside the $119.99 Mayor Manor, the first set in LEGO’s new haunted Midnight Valley collection.

Barnes & Noble is giving away a free LEGO Halloween mini build at more than 470 stores October 9 to 11. The LEGO.com free build, the 218-pieceScary Haunted Tree (40900), a tree whose mouth lights up, went to orders over $100 through September 30.
I flagged both sets on July 6, when they first appeared on LEGO.com with names, prices, and a release date. Here are the full specs from LEGO.com.
Halloween Pumpkin Lantern (40872), $29.99

The build is a carved pumpkin with a hinged lid and a light brick you activate by pressing the stem, so the face glows from inside. It ships with a glow-in-the-dark ghost minifigure on a clear arm that attaches to the pumpkin so the ghost appears to float above it, plus a spider.
That light brick is the reason this one costs $10 more than the skull, and it is what makes the set function as an actual decoration rather than a shelf model. Ten dollars for a working light is not a bad trade.
Halloween Skull Candle (40883), $19.99

Taller than the pumpkin and narrower, built as a skull with a black candle rising out of the crown. The details are where the money went: a gold tooth, two pairs of eyes (one green, one glow-in-the-dark) so you can swap the look, a spiderweb with spiders, and a bottle of spilled green poison at the base that LEGO’s copy says is what is bringing the skull back to life.
Of the two, this is the one that looks least like a LEGO set once it is built and sitting on a table.
The ladder
On July 11, LEGO opened pre-orders on Mayor Manor 11383, a 1,420-piece, 18+, $119.99 set that LEGO’s product copy calls “the first from the Midnight Valley Collection.” Midnight Valley is a new original-IP subtheme built on haunted, tilted, asymmetrical architecture, and LEGO fan media have compared it to Winter Village, the seasonal collection LEGO has extended to sixteen sets since 2009.

The two cheap sets are rated 9+ and sold as kids’ seasonal crafts. Mayor Manor is 18+ and sold as an adult collectible. But they land in the same aisle in the same eight-week window, and the two small ones are the only LEGO Halloween product most households will buy on impulse.
If Midnight Valley is going to work the way Winter Village works, with one big set a year collected over a decade, LEGO needs a steady supply of people who put a LEGO Halloween thing on a shelf for the first time. A $19.99 skull is how you get them.
Whether that is deliberate, LEGO has not said. But the shape of the lineup is the shape of a funnel.
What LEGO hasn’t said about Midnight Valley
Mayor Manor’s product page still calls it “the first from the Midnight Valley Collection,” and as of September 24 it is the only Midnight Valley set on LEGO.com. LEGO has not said when a second set will follow. Per fan media, Mayor Manor goes to general retail rather than launching as a LEGO.com exclusive, which is a deliberate break from how Winter Village sets typically debut. Amazon sells it too: Mayor Manor on Amazon.
So the collection is real, the strategy is legible, and the commitment is unstated.
The set the ladder leaves out: Creator 3-in-1 Haunted Mansion (31167), $89.99
The three-rung ladder above is LEGO’s Midnight Valley story, and it is not the whole Halloween shelf. The haunted LEGO set drawing the most search interest this fall is not a Midnight Valley set at all. It is the Creator 3-in-1 Haunted Mansion, set 31167.
It is not new. LEGO released 31167 on August 1, 2025 as an evergreen Creator set rather than a dated seasonal one, which is why it is still listed as available now while interest climbs again for its second Halloween. The specs:
- $89.99, 736 pieces, ages 9+
- Three builds from one box: a two-story haunted mansion with a graveyard and gate, a haunted train with a station platform, or a haunted ship
- Five minifigures: Frankenstein’s monster, a vampire, a skeleton, a werewolf, and a glow-in-the-dark ghost
The glow-in-the-dark ghost is the piece builders single out, because molded glow parts are rare in LEGO sets. On price, 31167 sits between the $29.99 Pumpkin Lantern and the $119.99 Mayor Manor, but it is the only one of the four that is a full play build rather than a decoration, and at ages 9+ it is aimed at kids and builders rather than the adult-collectible shelf.

For haunt operators
Two practical notes if you run an attraction rather than a shelf.
At $19.99 and $29.99, both sets sit in gift-shop and merch-table price territory, and both are built to be displayed rather than played with. The pumpkin’s press-the-stem light brick in particular is the kind of thing that works on a box-office counter.
And if you build sets: the Skull Candle’s swappable green and glow-in-the-dark eyes are a cheap, legible trick for showing an object “waking up.” It is a two-piece change that reads across a room. LEGO is charging $19.99 to demonstrate a lighting principle that scales to a full-size prop.
