New York’s 2026 haunted houses run from a 10,000-square-foot haunt in a Tribeca building on Broadway to five haunted houses inside a former Buffalo Kmart, and most are open every weekend through Halloween. Blood Manor opens in Manhattan on October 2, Pure Terror Scream Park holds a Guinness World Record an hour from the city, and three New York haunts are certified Top Haunts by the Haunted Attraction Association.

What Is the Scariest Haunted House in NYC?
Blood Manor, Tribeca
Blood Manor, which bills itself as NYC’s scariest haunted house, is a 10,000-square-foot walk-through at 359 Broadway in Tribeca, open 22 nights from Friday, October 2, through November 7. It takes about 20 minutes on foot, it isn’t recommended for kids under 14, and general admission is $50 plus a booking fee. For $350, you can work the night in makeup and costume as one of its scare actors, and the last three nights, November 1, 6, and 7, are Lights Out Nights. The Ridgewood Asylum, Brooklyn
The Ridgewood Asylum is an interactive haunted house and escape room, and for 2026 it’s at a Bushwick, Brooklyn, location that’s announced to ticket holders. It runs October 9 through November 1, Wednesdays through Saturdays from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. and Sundays from 6 to 11 p.m. Anyone under 18 must come with a parent or legal guardian, and only advance tickets guarantee entry.
Haunted Houses Near NYC Worth the Drive
Pure Terror Scream Park, Monroe
Pure Terror Scream Park, about 40 miles from New York City in Monroe, holds the Guinness World Record for the longest walk-through horror attraction, measured at 6,344 feet. Its 10 attractions include the new Gargoyle Den, and walking all of them takes 60 to 90 minutes. It runs select nights through November 1, general admission is $49.98 to $59.98 plus tax and fees depending on the night, and it’s recommended for ages 10 and up. Headless Horseman Hayrides and Haunted Houses, Ulster Park
The Headless Horseman, a certified Top Haunt at 778 Broadway on Route 9W in the Hudson Valley, sells one ticket for all 13 of its attractions, from a haunted hayride and a corn maze to haunted houses like the Skinner Motel and Mother’s Manor. New this year are The Cursed Earth of Crow Hollow hayride and the Crow Hollow Candy Company walking trail. The whole night takes about 2 to 2.5 hours. It’s open October 2, 3, 9, 10, 11, 16, 17, 18, 23, 24, 25, 30, and 31, and tickets are $73.90 plus tax online, or $78.90 on site if any are left, with a Scream Pass for $41 more.
It isn’t recommended for kids under 13. Children 8 and younger aren’t allowed on the evening attractions, and anyone 15 or younger needs an adult. For younger kids, Children’s Day runs October 3 and 17, at $26.90 plus tax online for children under 12 and $29.90 for adults.
Long Island Haunted Houses
Bayville Scream Park, Bayville
Bayville Scream Park, at 8 Bayville Ave, has five haunted houses: Bloodworth Haunted Mansion, Uncle Needles Funhouse of Fear, The Cage, Bayville Haunted Asylum, and Temple of Terror. It also has GellyBall shooting, axe throwing, and Zombie Pirate Mini Golf. It runs select nights through November 7, and prices vary by night: value nights start at $39.90, non-peak nights at $56.90, and peak nights at $61.90, each including a $5.95 fee, and gate prices are $5 higher. The last two nights, November 6 and 7, are Lights Out Fright Nights, with one glow stick in total darkness. It isn’t recommended for children 12 and under, and guests under 16 need an adult over 21.
Darkside Haunted House, Wading River
Darkside Haunted House, at 5184 NY-25A in Wading River, packs more than 30 scenes into over 20,000 square feet across two attractions, The Village and The House. It’s open select nights from October 2 through November 1, 7 p.m. to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays and 7 to 10:30 p.m. on the other nights. General admission is $40 online and $50 on site, a Fast Pass is $55 online, and all three add taxes and fees. Darkside doesn’t recommend it for anyone under 12.
Schmitts Farm Haunt, Melville
Schmitts Farm Haunt, at 26 Pinelawn Road in Melville, pairs The Haunt, a 10,000-square-foot haunted house, with a 1-acre Haunted Corn Trail, and one $47.11 general admission ticket, fee and tax included, covers both. It runs select nights through October 31, until midnight on most Fridays and Saturdays, with Clown Take-Over Nights on October 22 and 29. It isn’t recommended for kids under 10, and children under 13 need an adult.
Upstate New York Haunted Houses
Frightworld, Buffalo
Frightworld puts five haunted houses under one roof in a former North Buffalo Kmart at 1001 Hertel Ave, including the new Hallow Grounds, a rotting 1947 harvest festival. Its regular season runs October 2 through 31, when the 5 House Pass is $40 plus tax, and it closes with Lights Out nights on November 6 and 7. It’s all indoors, and guests 15 or younger need a chaperone 21 or older. My Frightworld story covers the new house.
Everhaunt, Angola
Everhaunt, at 144 Lake Street in Angola, south of Buffalo, is a Gold-level Top Haunt, and it’s open six nights: October 16, 17, 23, 24, 25, and 30, from 6:30 p.m. The $34.99 Total Terror Pass covers Rosewood County Asylum, the new Delaware Creek Estates: Silent Night, and the Delaware Creek Pumpkin Spectacular. Every night it’s open, a horror celebrity meets guests, including Lochlyn Munro, Naomi Grossman, Mike Giannelli, and Allen Robinson. Everhaunt cut its ticket slots by 40% this year and says walk-up tickets are unlikely.
Frightmare Farms, Palermo
Frightmare Farms, another Top Haunt, runs four attractions: the Haunted Estate, the Twisted Labyrinth, the Terror Trail, and the Forbidden Forest Haunted Hayride. It’s open every Friday and Saturday in October, plus Sunday, October 11, with walk-up ticket sales from 7 p.m. Cash prices are $25 for one attraction, $45 for all four, and $70 for a VIP pass, and it’s recommended for ages 8 and up.
Field of Horrors, Troy
Field of Horrors reopened on September 26, nine weeks after a July 20 fire destroyed three of its haunted houses, and it built two all-new attractions in their place. It’s at 100 Farrell Road in Troy, open select nights through October 31, plus an 18-and-up Extreme Scare Night on Saturday, November 7. General admission is $45 at the gate, $5 less than online, and the walk through everything takes at least 2 hours. It isn’t recommended for kids under 10.
Fright Fest at Great Escape, Queensbury
Great Escape’s Fright Fest runs weekends through October 25, starting at 5 p.m., with four haunted houses, Nightmare, Skull Manor, CarnEVIL, and Hell Block VI, which need a separate wristband or maze pass. Its Boo Fest for younger kids starts at noon. Six Flags Darien Lake, near Buffalo, isn’t running Fright Fest this year, as I reported in my Darien Lake story.
